Sometimes a movie is made or broken by its ending. Well, this movie totally "made it" in its last 5 minutes. The ending was outstanding, with the entirely of the film a build up to that surprise ending. (If you watch it, watch the whole thing ... don't just skip to the end). There is actually some hint to where it is going in the last 20 minutes or so. I loved it.
The film is about this narcissistic young woman, who contracts some kind of sexually-transmitted disease. The "mystery" of the film unfolds slowly, as does the deteriorating progression of the sickness, but what I liked about the film was the interaction between the characters - the girl's hostile-dependent relationship with her mother, her visit to the doctor's office ("How are you?" "Fine." - How many times have we said that at the doctor's office?), her infatuated love for her first Lesbian girlfriend, and so on.
The whole time you're watching, you're thinking, "You idiot, you're sick, do something about it, stop being so self-absorbed!!!!" There are actually some serious sub-texts, in the parallel that can be seen to the early transmission of AIDS. Also involves some social commentary related to the relationship of men and women, unreasonable demands of employers, and so on. Watch what happens when she meets the guy at the party.
It is not a blockbuster. Expect a movie filmed on a low budget. At times you'll think it is building up too slowly. But it ends with a real bang! At least, for me, the way it ended was just PERFECT. Really MADE the film.
I believe it deserves a "10 out of 10" in the low-budget horror-ish category.
WARNING: DO NOT WATCH THE TRAILER FOR THIS FILM IF YOU PLAN ON WATCHING IT. IT GIVES WAY TOO MUCH AWAY!!!

This film is very unusual, because (as you know by now), it stars real Navy Seals as the central heroic characters. Sure, they are not professional actors, so in a couple of instances the delivery of lines was a bit stiffer than one would expect from professional actors, though most of the delivery was (surprisingly) effective and even in some instances hilarious (and intentionally so)!
Watching these Navy Seals one can't forget that they are in fact the real deal. Which makes the film far more compelling than it would be with "mere" actors. And when it comes to their use of military and tactical jargon, and their implementation of the action sequences, the realism is dramatic. The Navy edited out anything that would be too instructive to terrorists (regarding Navy Seal techniques), but left in enough to absolutely blow you away! I was on the edge of my seat throughout the film. This, when most contemporary action movies put me to sleep.
It is refreshing to see a film where our soldiers are portrayed as dedicated and valorous, while our enemies are portrayed much as they actually are in the real world (as opposed to the trite portrayal of the manipulative multi-national-capitalist executive that we see so often in action films today).
This film has a strong positive message. Valor, viewed as an "old fashioned value" by some, still has great vitality.
I and my two sons give this film a 10 out of 10. My oldest son goes so far as to say it is the best film he has seen in years!

I loved this film. Must be watched without distraction, to allow yourself to be immersed in the mood and flow of the piece, to feel at times like a person investigating a cult, at times like a person with doubts, at times like a person embracing it, while at times as a person ... in bewilderment ... and wonder. Emotions that draw you in, just as they draw in the cult members.
Needless to say this is not a special effects film, despite the "science-fiction" question it raises. It is all about the people.
All those involved in writing, producing, financing, directing, and acting in this film, deserve an incredible amount of credit.
