zombie and comedy ... hmmm there is a problem. a zombie movie IS comedy! so how should i describe this movie?
i'll just skip the "comedy" part and just say that harrelson rescues the movie. he didn't get the zombie-kill of the week. but it was a lame week at our cinema. so maybe the sister didn't get it, but harrelson really got it for my week.
it is not a good zombie movie. and i think its not a good comedy. but if you have nothing else to do... whats wrong with killing some zombies?
the IMDb feedback tells me that i have to write more lines, i really don't know what else there is to write about, but that describes the movie quite well!

to be honest, i was expecting more. a lot more. i was leaving the cinema thinking "i could have just watched the trailer, stretched it to two hours and added the last little twist (which is really not that good) and i have seen the movie".
it does, however, give the director credit, that a story that is almost told in the trailer can entertain you during a full movie length. and i must say, i was almost never bored.
like i said, this movie doesn't hurt the eye. characters and images are well chosen, you can watch this movie and live in it. but in the end i was just disappointed. maybe im too political to find political interest in the political plot, and maybe im too much of a psychologist to find anything interesting about the personal plot. but i just wasn't able to find something interesting in the both of them and neither in the combination of the two.
this could have just been a cinematic disaster, but it was too well composed to qualify for that. it is too well made to actually say that it is a bad movie. what i will remember from this movie are really good images (both from the characters and the "actual" images) and a nice tempo. what i will forget is that the plot just sucks.
my abstract: good to watch, bad to think while you are watching. (thats my problem... i thought while i was watching, that all the movie is somehow building up to something ... something we do not know... and that something was just not enough)
