In 1967, a newly married conventional lawyer and free spirit wife have moved into a decrepit five-story walkup apartment in Greenwich Village in New York. Unfortunately, the happy couple don't seem too compatible, and wifey grumbles over how he is such a stuffed shirt. There are also weird neighbors the two of them have to put up with, and the wife also decides to find her widowed mother a new hubby.
The comedy is light and predictable and contains no surprises. The movie was well regarded when it came out but looks rather quaint today. In fact, what prompted me to watch the movie on video in the first place was the memory of a small local grocery store (which still exists) having a sign saying, "Barefoot in the park is fine, but not in our store". I found that funnier than anything in this movie.

He had the credible appearance and mannerisms as well as a good record as a performer. But he couldn't do much with a story written by producers who evidently had no idea what the Doctor Who series was even about.
The story implies that the Doctor is half-human rather than the complete alien he really is. He is supposed to carry a container of the cremains of the Master who was executed on Skaro. Um, the Daleks are supposed to be monsters who are out to wipe out everybody in the universe but themselves. But somehow the Master is able to slither out of the container and take things over. Also, the seventh Doctor winds up in Los Angeles, gets shot, and the local hospital cannot save him because of his alien physiognomy. The Master intends to take over the Doctor's body and his remaining regenerations. But it is the turn of the millennia, and the Master intends to destroy Earth...
The movie is confusing and fails to really capture the spirit of the old series, which was brought down for a number of reasons. This American-made movie was supposed to help revive Dr. Who, but alas, the series would not come back for over another decade, and this movie failed to help matters.

Abbott and Costello play two servants at an inn in Tortuga during the piratical era, with Captain Kidd and a female pirate captain at the inn, having a dispute over a buried treasure on an island. As the servants have come into possession of the map and misdelivered it, they are kidnapped by the pirates and forced to sail with them to the island.
Sounds like this could have been a fun adventure, but the laughs are few and there are songs which are sung which are hardly good. Abbott and Costello themselves are wasted, with little opportunity for them to be funny. There must be better movies they are in.
