Not having read the book, I didn't know what to expect from the movie. It was a pleasant surprise to see William Levy take on a co-producing role, while acting as the lead, too. I have been following his work for a while and am happy to see him foray into production. For those of us who watched him in other work we know that there is an allure to him due to his sex appeal. He has been typecast as the latin hottie. It can be difficult to get roles when you look like him. However, although there is intimacy in this movie, I can see that there was a push for him to venture into more of an action role. There is room for improvement both in the acting and production. There are some unexpected twists and thought this was an enjoyable Spanish language film. I would love to see a second movie follow this one.
This show is great! In this economy where small business owners are not getting the bank loans they need to maintain what they own, it's great to see the "little guy" getting some help. Watching Charlie and his Crew move in quickly to help a business that has fallen on hard times is great. There is a feel good, patriotic tone to this show that all Americans can appreciate. Sure, there's yelling, and some people might find it offensive, but when you see the true meaning of the show there is no greater reward! The crew in the end will feel proud of the hard work and make the community around them feel proud! "The Bulldog" in the end, gains the respect he deserves. The crew stays in gear, ready to roll, when they need to. All in all, it's patriotic, it's the American Dream. Anyone who's had that dream can understand the logic behind it all.
