Something is wrong. Of course, it is. We have become accustomed to meaningless violence. Ray, the main character, is a broken human being. The "catch" in this show that attempts to make it interesting is that he also has people in his life, like the little girl, that he treats well and with consideration, while acting like a sociopath with others.
Is this a good script? No. Good acting? Hmmm? No. What does a show like this do for any of us? It leaves a person feeling unwell. So much unhappiness bought to us trying to be darkly creative. Our societies need something that is not this type of show.

I was delighted with this movie. Whereas it could have been silly and trite, it came across with believable insight and heart. Riele Downs did a terrific job acting the lead female role. She is lovely and pulled off this "Ghost Whisperer" like character with ease. One could ask what the target audience for "Darby and the Dead" would be. Well, I am in my seventies and found this movie interesting, charming, comedic and with a touch of romance. How is it possible for a Daniel Craig, Liam Neeson, Jason Statham fan to enjoy a light teen movie? No one is shot. No car chases. No sex. Well, it is well written deadly insightful fun!
If a person were like a male teen, without a moral code, without appreciation for true values, having social adjustment issues, then maybe comments about how well the animation is done are understandable, because the rest of it was so pitiful and dark that it overwhelms any attempt at art here. The medium was well done. The content was so vapid that a rating of 2 was hardly justifiable.
