I started watching SG1 because of Richard Dean Anderson(MacGyver fan)and fell in love with the show and all the characters. I've watched every episode of SG1 and Atlantis and now have all the episodes on DVD. SGU is not part of the franchise except it has a star gate. The characters are totally unlikeable and everyone has his own agenda. I don't care about any of them. The show is too dark(the writers and producers went over to the dark side, eh?), gritty, depressing and nasty(just like Battlestar Galactica). I don't trust anybody from SGU; in fact, I don't even want them in my living room on Fridays. On the other hand, I would go through the star gate with any one of SG1 or Atlantis teams. My husband and I spent years with them; we love them and care about them. We'd be happy to have them over for snacks and games. I cannot say the same for SGU. I tried the show, gave it some time. This Friday I turned on SyFy for Sanctuary, but not SGU. It's definitely not in the same ballpark as SG1 and SGA; it's not even in the same universe.
I detest back-stabbing politics, abuse of authority, ego-induced deceit and blackmail in order to produce disunity and downfall of someone you have it in for. If Criminal Minds continues on the tack that it ended the finale, I won't be able to be a viewer anymore. I love this show; it's intelligent, draws you into its story and characters. I love the characters and their interaction. It is a group effort. To put a political witch-hunt and effort to destroy the group really irks me. Why can't the producers and writers continue in the same successful way that's proved itself. Why do they have to make stinking politics and abuse of authority the center of the new season. I hope the "new girl" isn't pressured to dismember the team. If distrust, deceit and political pressuring becomes central to the theme of the show; I'm afraid they've lost me. My dream episode at the beginning of the new season would be for the new girl to call the team together and tell all without concern for herself. They'd be sure to keep her on the team and we wouldn't have to deal with the unhappy, vengeful witch and her political agenda.
It is now November 2009 and I am still enjoying Criminal Minds. The team has been together and the political agenda of destroying the team was dispersed. Still a great show with characters I care about.

I am also one who enjoyed the series and was so disappointed to see it never given a chance. I had the entire series taped on VHS and lost it during Hurricane Katrina. I wish it was on DVD now. I also lost all my TV collections; some are on DVD now so I can replace them; but so many are not available, like Shellgame. Who decides which series go to DVD; would contacting the producers or studio help. It's ashamed to let Shellgame disappear without an audience; maybe DVD would introduce a whole audience to it's wit and charm. In fact, I watched it because I thought James Read was great in Remington Steele. His character was the perfect foil for Pierce Brosnan's. I also liked several other cancelled series: Stingray with Nick Mancuso, Legend with Richard Dean Anderson, and Lazerus Man with Robert Urich. I wish all my favorites were on DVD now. After the flooding of the levee break, my home was left with 8 feet of disgustingly filthy water for 2 and 1/2 weeks. Talk about GROSS! Anyway, I lost my VHS collection of a bunch of series that are no longer on such as Simon & Simon, Scarecrow and Mrs. King, Spenser: For Hire, it's spin off Hawk, and Riptide. I loved all these shows and really was proud of my collection some of which was irreplaceable, like Shellgame. Please let there be DVDs someday.
