Absolution (2024)
Better than I expected!
Liam's performance is just over the top, he plays the character so well you can sense every emotion he feels.
The movie is psychological, there were some disturbing scenes with too much violence but I guess that was needed for the story to unfold.
I don't understand the low ratings, it was a nice movie and you could not guess the plot very easily.
I thought this was gonna be another Liam Neeson's action movies and I love them but this one hits different, it's mystey, crime, psychology combined.
It is slow paced so it's not for everyone, but it's a rewarding one. I'd recommend watching this movie if you have a weird and unique taste in movies.
Severance (2022)
Did we watch the same show?
I don't get the hype for this show... Are you serious guys? You actually liked this show?
My boyfriend and I tried watching this show and we kept waiting for something to happen until episode 5 and nothing. We lost interest and moved on... There is nothing interesting happening, the characters are poorly written with almost zero interesting backstories, you don't care about them,
The show tries to be meaningful by throwing some big lines here and there but they don't make any sense, not deep enough for me to care.
Maybe these days we have less expections from a show....
Overall, dissapointed.
Twisters (2024)
What a surprise!
Wow I was blown away by how amazing this story unfolds. I didn't expect the movie to be as good as it was. I was surprised. This is not a fantasy, it's more like a real story about real people. I believe there are people like this out there who put their own life at risk to make this world a better place for all of us. These are the true super heros.
I gave this a 9 star because I thought the movie had a slow start but,
The whole experience was very enjoyable for me and my mom we left the theater saying wow! That was a good movie we just watched.
I recommend everyone to watch this, it's a family friendly one as well.
Popular (2020)
Masterpiece
This is probably of of the best movies I've watched in my life, and yes I've watched almost all the good movies out there but this one hits differently. It portrays the culture Iranian people grow up in, and at some point in the movie you realize it's not even about the Iranian culture it's an issue all cultures in the world deal with.
Do you choose to live free of other people and their opinions about you? Do you keep being you even when no one in this world stands by your side? Will you choose to be a good person no matter how everyone around you cheats you and treat you like trash?
I think this movie needs to win awards, seriously I'm not a middle aged woman I don't think you even need to be a woman to enjoy watching this movie and grasp the truth out of it.
Wonka (2023)
What a happy movie.. we need more of this!
I've got a feeling this is going to become a classic, yes perhaps it's not a movie adored by people these days but I think this is going to be one of those movies that stays with you. I'm a Johnny depp fan but honestly I thought this version was better than the one with Johny.
What a happy movie.. we need more of this! We need to learn how to be a kid again and enjoy watching movies like these, instead of all those sad, horror, war, depressing stuff they call movies these days.
I watched this on the theater and now I'm adding it to my all time favorite list.
My friends are all hyped about oppenheimer meanwhile I'm glad I'm watching Wonka.
Don't expect a movie that logically makes sense, this is a fantasy genre, if you want logic go for something else.
Love at First Sight (2023)
Impressive stuff...
The story was almost too simple, not much happening as you watch, but it was a sweet story with a good message about love. Probably better than the other romcoms they make these days. I guess it helps you to understand that havibg fears isn't a big issue in life because everyone has them, what's important is how you decide to deal with them. It was also very interesting to see the main female character was a bit chuby and not super skinny like the other movies that make characters so unreal as if they are living on another planet. Although I thought her dress was hillarious...
However I will recommend watching this movie to anyone looking for a nice romantic comedy with a happy ending.
Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas (2003)
Not good enough
I used to love this as a kid, but now after rewatching it as an adult I feel like the story is a bit too cliche, predictable, there is no wow in it. It just doesn't feel entertaining to me anymore, Now I watch many animated movies and I can still enjoy many of them, but thid one doesn't do it for me. Not something I would wanna rewatch later.
I didn't like the Character of Sinbad he just didn't look very attractive to me, if it was real life I would say Marina would have regreted her decision to follow sinbad in a few years, the other guy was a better choice, but that's just my opinion.
Overall 5/10.
Toy Story 3 (2010)
Fun!
This is just an opinion but I think Woody shouldn't have changed Andy's plans, throughout the film Woody kept saying that they should stay loyal to Andy and be there for him no matter what, he kept saying that Andy needs them, but at the end Woody changed his mind and decided that they should all go to a new home to make a new kid happy.. really?! That doesn't make sense. And I think if they have stayed with Andy the 4th movie wouldn't be so bad, it didn't even need to happen. But overall I enjoyed this more than the second movie and almost as much as the first one.
Toy story is still way better than most animations out there.
Toy Story (1995)
Enjoyable!
I really hated that non of woody's friends actually trusted him! After knowing him for so long.... And they seemed very cruel to me except that little puppy. But I enjoy watching toy story it's original, fun and exciting. To this day I haven't seen an animation like it. I'm a thirty year old but after watching toy story I wanna have woody and buz as toys. That means there is something that's done right in this animation. It stays with you. A lot of the animations made today are too weird and too forgetful, there is nothing magical about them, in the good old days you didn't have to make every group in society happy in order to be able to make a movie.
And there is a great message at the end, you can use what's meant to be against you for you. You don't have to have it all together, you don't have to be mad about where you are, you can enjoy your life just the way it is cuz there is a reason behind everything.
And my favorite quote? "This isn't flying this is falling, with style!"
My rating is 8/10.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
Ridiculous!
If you're looking for a real good movie in this genre save yourself some time and watch the masterpiece "About time" 2013.
Now about this movie:
Just because everybody else liked a movie doesn't mean you should agree with them. Just because a movie is boring as hell and includes some so called psychological secret messaged doesn't mean it's a good movie. Oh yes there are so many of these kinda movies winning Oscars but do you really wanna enjoy a movie or you just wanna be looking cool in the eyes of others.
I didn't wanna finish watching it cuz I lost interest before the very first 30 minutes, but I decided to keep watching to make sure I wouldn't miss something. The couple don't have any chemistry, Yes she is right Joel is too boring. Nothing that make you like his Character, a good movie gets you connected to the characters so much that you feel what they are feeling. Something else I don't like about Hollywood movies is the overuse of sexual stuff.. seriously what would these filmmakers do if they couldn't show any nudity or sex in their movies? I'm not a Muslim but I come from a Muslim country where movies aren't filled with sex nudity and profanity, they have a real story to tell.
I wanted to give this a 1 but I decide to give it a 3 because I though there was a good message at the end, that no matter how messed up our life is, we won't be happy if we give it up, it's never gonna be perfect, so why don't we just enjoy what we already have.
Not Okay (2022)
No thanks. I'm okay!
How can Rowan go on with all that hate in her? Public speaking will not sooth her bitter heart. I wish this movie was more about forgiveness and redemption. Yes if you wanna make a documentary it's cool this is so much like what the world looks like today with so many people getting a platform to just empty their heart out. To cry and say that they're not okay. No it's good to be ok guys.. if you continue going to all these support groups for the rest of your life you're never gonna be ok... So if you actually wanna get well you need to get up and be well. You need to stop victimising yourself. Just because you were a victim once doesn't mean you have to continue being one. You can choose to change. Right now. Choose to not be a victim anymore and instead be a victor! Meditating day and night upon all the bad things you've been through in life will not solve any of your problems.
Spider-Man (2002)
The only true spiderman?
Hey... This is a classic. The spiderman movies they make these days are a joke. They make so many superhero movies these days that you hate the idea of a superhero movie. I just remembered that I used to love them because of these classics. The original spiderman is a good movie with a beautiful message. I miss the Good old days...When they didn't make movies just for the money. They made movies because they had this great idea in their mind and wanted to share it with the world. They made movies with love just like a chef cooks their food with love. Not with greed. These days you can barely see a good movie in the cinemas. They insult the viewer.
Da Vinci's Demons (2013)
Underrated!
Anybody else thinks this is so underrated?
Although if it was more popular it could have been ruined just like some other shows out there.
Excellent overall.
Althoigh I find it a bit cliche at times. It's an enjoyable ride if you are looking for a fun series with an artistic style. I'm not a fan of nudity and sexualism in movies so I'd rather skip some scenes. The Characters are so likable and well built. One of the only downsides for me is the complex storyline and at the end it feels like an unfinished story. Like something is missing.
I watched this show when it came out in 2013 so I might change my mind a bit when I do a rewatch.
Matilda: The Musical (2022)
Horror!
As a 30 year old adult I was very disturbed with so many scenes in this movie. Although it's based on a Novel so it's just my personal opinion. I would not want my kids to ever watch such movies.
I loved the colourful vibe. I loved the little girl's songs.
Emma Thompson performance wat outstanding.
I think the poor little girl was hallucinating most of the time because she was so lonely she had found a way to escape her tragic life. It's a horror story and I don't think our kids these days need these kind of stories, we need hope! We need joy! We need love!
That's prettey much all I could say about this film.
Interstellar (2014)
No! Watched it 4 times... But No!
I watched this over and over again in 2014 just because my firends kept asking me to go watch it with them at the cinema. Everyone thought this a movie made by a mastermind.. meanwhile I fell asleep watching this... How do they call this scientific??? There are so many ideas that the great philosophers kept telling us but these so called science buffs think that if a movie is made about them describing everything in a scientific manner then they can accept it and think it's real.
So you don't believe in ghosts but you believe in ghosts when a director tells you that a scientist found out that ghosts are real. Fine. It's always like this. The majority of people just go with the flow, they don't even dare to say that they didn't like a movie just because everybody else is saying that they loved it... Well well.. everybody else is also saying it because they heard others do... For once people, just be real! Just be you!
The Fabelmans (2022)
I expected so much more...
I'm sorry but what? I expected so much more!
First of all this is not a complete story, at the end we are left with nothing and nowhere just the way we were at the beginning.
We don't get to see beyond his teenage years. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan of Steven but this was one of the worst Oscar nominating movies I've ever watched.
The boy has a dream he tires his best to achieve that dream despite all the issues going on with his family. But we don't get to see why he was different. Why he made it but so many other kids out there that were like him didn't. Was it a blessing of the Horizon? Who knows.
Ti be honest I felt a little depressed after leaving the theater and didn't even wanna wait to see if tgere was any scenes after the ending credits.. if you have something interesting to say you should say it in the actual movie.
It's just a story of a boy and his mama, that's it. End of story.
