The Crown of Bogg (1982)
A Forgotten Classic, That Should Be Annually Televised.
Hello Everyone, I am not going to discuss what The Crown of Bogg is about (as there is a synopsis available on IMDb.com), but just that it has all but practically been forgotten and should be right up there with annually aired Halloween specials.
Some specials that get broadcast every year are: "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown", "Garfield's Halloween Adventure", "Fat Albert's Halloween Special", and several other cartoons in addition to a host of horror movies that they play.
The Crown of Bogg, although not a cartoon, has puppets and real people in it and looks like something Jim Henson would have done with his Muppets, but is actually the work of Paul Fusco who is best known for creating Alf.
Being that this special was created in 1981 that makes it 29 years old (as of 2010), and I feel that it would be right up there with current classics (like Peanuts Halloween special) if it received proper airings on television. I was fortunate enough to capture my treasured memory of this special from when it aired on Showtime in 1982 or 1983 (can't remember) and I watch it every year on Halloween.
It is truly a classic and something that should not be the rare memory of a select few, but something that all should know every line to such as how we all know "I got a rock" from "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown".
Hoping for a DVD release of not only Paul Fusco's Halloween special, but his Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, & Valentine's Day specials as well.
