I M 24 is a complete entertainment for people who love comedy. Saurabh Shukla assorts a bunch of familiar faces to get on with his plot of love, lies and laughs. But the film which is awesome would not have been the same without its cast specially Ranvir Shorey and Rajat Kapoor. As you go on and on,you will realize that the film would not be worth it without these two actors. Rajat Kapoor who bears the burden of a prosthetic bald pate, is aptly cast as the shy 42-year-old writer Shubendu Roy who discovers the joys of lying. He discovers this joy only after he meets his love interest,Kanika played by Manjari Fadnis. Ranvir needs special mention because he is simply awesome in his role as Gagandeep. The narrative unfolds an interesting plot before running out of ideas. I M 24 like its title is successful in providing the same kind of entertainment that it tried to Hats off to its stars for their effort and the production house.
Saanjhbathir Roopkathara is a low-budget beautifully made Bengali film produced by Arindam Chaudhuri's Planman Motion, and is directed by Anjan Das.To see Arindam Chaudhuri making such movies is really tremendous. Saanjhbaatir Roopkathara stars Indrani Halder and Soumitra Chatterjee in the lead role. Indrani is a young girl who has lots of dreams and desires. She was born at the stroke of twilight to an artist father (Saikat played by Soumitra Chatterjee) who saw a luminescent aura enveloping his newborn and named her Saanjhbathi (twilight lamp). Saanjhbathir Roopkathara aka Strokes and Silhouettes is based on renowned poet-littérateur Joy Goswami's poetic prose. Anjan Das has made the film brilliantly. The way he has directed the film really made it worth watch. To make a movie out of a poetry and that too this way is simply commendable.
The last lear certainly will always be remembered for two things. One is excellent acting by its stars and the second cinematography. The movie released in 2007 produced by the Planman motion pictures directed by Rituparno Ghosh. Thus another highlight of the film was the coming together of two stalwarts:Amitabh Bachchan and Rituparno Ghosh. Both are as always brilliant. I watched this film only because Amitabh Bachchan was in it but after watching it liked it too much because everyone in the movie were equally good in their roles.Be it Arjun Rampal,Preity Zinta or Shefali;they are all great and according to me they have given their best in this particular movie.Preity and Amitabh play the role of Shabnam and Harish and have done full justice to their roles. In the film Harsih wanted to act as King Lear which was supposed to be a masterpiece, but after working 30 years and 9 months precisely as a theatre actor Harish refused to act in the play just seven days before the premiere.Amitabh Bachchan is superb as Harish and I feel this is just one of his best films till date. The movie was released in English and shows the brilliance of all the stars in the film.
