this film is nowhere as bad as people claim, alright it is not fantastic and it's plot is a little dodgy. lesbian falls for Ben affleck, OK this seems to be a career pattern (implausable leading ladies!!!) but there are a hell of a lot worse movies. just put your brain into neutral and enjoy!!! this film is not Shakespeare and it does not pretend to be. it is a dodgy crime flick and non the worse for it. martin Brest (the director ) has a fantastic film inside him waiting to escape, let's not hold this against him, and one day he will dazzle us. Ben affleck for all his faults is a decent leading man (daredevil, Armageddon, bounce, chasing Amy) he just needs some decent scripts (i don't think he is capable of saving a bad script) maybe he should write them himself!! don't believe the negative press, give this a try
I am not normally a fan of sentai movies or the team ups as they always seem to be rushed or forced and don't really add anything to the series and this was no exception.
That said it wasn't entirely a waste of time. The basic plot is that a villain from gogo v help the villains from timeranger and both sets of rangers (who don't get on) get thrown into the past and must work together to get home.
The special effects are not fantastic, but perfectly efficient. I particularly liked the fire at the beginning which the gogo v siblings help fight. The mecha battle at the end isn't very good especially when the gogo-mecha emerges from the time-mecha.
This Japanese film is better than the power rangers version which was rushed and probably only made because of contractual obligations. It bears absolutely no resemblance to the plot of the Japanese version. The nearest American equivalent is the movie madness episodes which borrow the rangers in the past scenarios.

I remember when this film came out and joel schumacher said it was time bruce wayne got over his parents death, moved on and lightened up. Batman does not get over the death of his parents murder and this is what makes him a borderline psycho himself.
It is because of this one little point that causes this film to fail - complete lack of understanding for the source material.
The plot and action are distinctly juvenile and wouldn't have been out of place in the sixties series. except arnie, adam west could out act him in his sleep, and is more threatening.
on the plus point special effects aren't too bad, robin's costume is cool (echo's nightwing from the comics) and hopefully they have learnt from their mistakes for the reboot.
