The Wild Robot (2024)
A BIG FAT TEN!
Wow wow wow wow wow....... And I thought Over the Moon was amazing!!! Can someone give this an Oscar for Best Animation Feature? No, seiously! It's been a LONG TIME since a movie actually brought tears to my eyes, not just of laughter, but also crying (espcially in the end, get those tissues ready!) Cause man oh man. I really like the style also. First it begins all CGI-animation-like and the more the movie progesses, it becomes more like handpainted and stuff. Really beautifully done. But one thing bothers me: why did she returned? I wouldn't do that. Oh yes. I'm not a robot, hahaha!
But all in all: a big fat 10. No. Not 10. A 12! Instant CLASSIC! Must-see!
AINBO: Spirit of the Amazon (2021)
Plotholes, plotholes, plotholes....
So many plotholes in this movie, I don't really know where to start. They talk about a curse. Where did that curse come from? What does it do? When they are wandering about the Amazon, would they discovered the humans from outside the forest a long time ago already? That Will guy, all this time he has a fancy white suit on and in the end suddenly very different clothing? Where did that came from? How it the world did that turtle stayed hidden so big? What did she eat in the meantime while hidden? That sloth guy, when there are no trees in the volcano, how did he nurture himself? (sloths need to eat all day or so)
Man, so many questions for a REALLY BAD movie.
And don't get me started about the PS2-like surroundings and the HORRIFIC animation.
Yellow Submarine (1968)
Wow, never heard of an epylepic warning?
Yeah the first few minutes are OK (I thinK!) but after a while some people should be warned that are more and more scenes with wild flashing images (without warning!) so did the producers never heard of people who cannot stand flashing images?
Overall at a sidenote, it was a great movie, thank goodness no epyleptic seasure from all the flashing and stuff but again, maybe the makers would have warned us beforehand!
OK, let´s move on: big fan of the Beatles. Big fan. But I think the animation was a bit too cluncky for my liking. Bit in the spirit of the animation of South Park maybe? That style of thing?
Overall: Movie: meh. Not my style. 4 Stars.
Music: Oh yeah!
The School for Good and Evil (2022)
That was NOT Hogwarts...
Just no, that wasn't the Harry-Potter-Wanabe-movie I expected from the trailer. Halfway I just switched over to another movie. This one was just... all over the place. What was the movie about? Ah yes... and I try to forget it. Sorry Netflix. You can do better. A WHOLE lot better.
OK, the music was fine, the effects were quite well done, but overall... MEH. Not worth to continue watching this pile of goo that represent a 'movie'. Sorry. Yes. It's that bad. Almost as bad as Pinocchio. I expect an autumn of bad movies. I'm almost sure of that. But I liked the furry wolves in armour!
Just a drab movie.
Lego Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out (2012)
Very funny!
I'm a real Star Wars fan and when I heard of this title, I really had to see it for myself. I thought at first that this one was as 'serious' as the previous one, but boy! Was I wrong! The humor is good, even so very good, I laughed out loud several times. Yes, it is that funny! The animation is very well made, and crispy clear. The music is OK, but could be better... But when you see this on DVD, buy it! (I watched it on Cartoon Network) This is truly a movie for those long boring days. You won't regret it one second. I only wonder if there will be a part 3, I surely would watch that too, and I hope the humor will be even wittier than this one. I don't bother with the very first one though -- that one was almost devoid of humor... I prefer this title and NOT the Padawan Menace...
