I found this movie while scrolling through the options on Tubi on a lazy afternoon, looking for something that would provide a light background while doing other tasks - but I was quickly too engrossed to do anything else but watch these two actresses and the rest of the entourage as well, fall into adventures and mésaventures, together and apart and back together again. Whole the ending was pretty predictable, this is not the mindless made-for-tv or Hallmark kind of movie that I thought it would be - more than one twist left me gasping with surprise. The overarching plot line was somewhat predictable but the details along the way were not so much. The acting is what really carries it, though. Joann Collins was 84 when she did this, just wow!!
Being older myself is probably a large part of how this movie held my interest, I don't know if I'd have had the save level of fascination 20 or 40 or 60 years ago. I don't think younger audiences in general would be much appreciative - but if they are and they take the time to watch, they might learn a little something about older folks, and about what they will have themselves, way too soon.
We may be faded, we may not be as agile, in fact we seem to disappear into the general landscape of life - but in reality we're not dead until we're dead, and we still have plenty of thoughts, ideas, feelings, desires, and more, and the mental stamina can still carry us a long way.
