This film has an important story to tell, but I thought it was going to be an action film a la John Wick. It isn't. It has a few okay fight scenes, but the hero goes out of his way not to harm anyone, so you don't get the pleasure of seeing the bad guys get their due justice. Nothing wrong with the story, it's that is seems to be built up and sold as a different type of film.
Anyways, I ended up skipping through many parts of it looking for Jason Statham type fight scenes which never manifested, so I was disappointed. Not the film I was looking for, but if you are interested in a more realistic story with real consequences for actions, I guess this is okay.

Really well done. The two leads have great chemistry together and the writing is top notch. You really root for them and it is exciting whenever they overcome a hurdle is this 'opposites attract' story.
But I have to say it was tough to stomach the behavior of Noah's mother and sister-in-law, especially in the first two episodes. I almost gave up it was so bad. They behaved truly terribly and, I think, it was for humor, but it if so it was in poor taste. I just thought what if the father and a son-in-law berated a daughter the way this mother is bullying her son? To be honest is was shocking and I hope it was an exaggeration, otherwise some people need some serious family therapy in Hollywood.
By the third episode, they reveal that the sister-in-law is actually human and it makes the series much easier to watch.
I hope there is a second season for this mostly mature and nuanced exploration of a modern adult relationship.

I read the comics and didn't really understand the full meaning, but found the story engaging none the less.
I still didn't really understand the story again when watching this series, but I found it less engaging than the comic, so I gave up after about halfway through.
I think one issue I had was all the updating of characters and situations to sell to a more woke or hip crowd. I think it is fine to remove out dated ideas, but when they did it with this series they also managed to remove something that made it more interesting in the process. I really can't put my finger on it only that it came across flat versus the comic.
