Grotesquerie (2024)
It's too much
There's too much going on at the same time. The mother is a detective and an alcoholic. The daughter has an eating disorder. The father is in a coma and getting sexually abused by some strange 60's looking nurse with which the detective has odd conversations. There's a lot of police throwing up scenes. And this nun who is also a reporter and also solves crime. It's like multiple series got mashed together and comes over as if the characters aren't human, there's just too many sub plots going on and empty scenes when the characters are just not doing anything at all. 2 min of a big amount of people just standing there looking around or images of the detective thinking at her bed.
Save Ralph (2021)
The sad truth
Ralph works as a tester. It's sad, but worth the 4 min watch. Please buy cruelty free!
Wounds (2019)
Slowbuilding and odd but underrated
When the movie ends it kinda feels like where the movie should've began. I'm sure a sequel would do it a lot of justice. It wasn't bad, just very slow and a tad bit odd. I enjoyed it somewhat, wasn't the best I've seen but there most certainly is worse movies out there so a 7/10 is about what it deserves.
Fearless (2020)
kidsmovie
Clearly a kidsmovie in the style of the Incredibles. It wasn't the best but it certainly wasn't the worst. I'm sure it's quite enjoyable for the age group to which it's intended. Storyline could've been better, as could graphics but it has the same potential as the average Disney movie.
Falling Inn Love (2019)
Feel good
It's a fun movie but nothing you'll be talking about with your friends in a week. A feelgood / romantic movie specifically for the fans of that genre. Won't wow you.
The Kid Detective (2020)
Good Mystery
Story was good, movie all in all was quite slow building which at times made it a bit of a drag. It's worth watching till the end. This sadly isn't the new hit movie in its genre.
Always Be My Maybe (2019)
Average
Just the average romance movie that's highly predictable and a little unrealistic. The actors are very decent and you'll recognize them from other movies. The storyline is just very basic. Worth a watch? Sure, if you like rom-coms. It's better than lifestyle & Hallmark.
Grizzly Tales for Gruesome Kids (2000)
Creepy but fun!
Back when I was 11 years old I loved this show. It has a creepy and macabre feel to it just like the Addams family, the Beetlejuice cartoons and later on The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy. It was super popular in my school too. The stories are short and original.
Airplane Mode (2019)
Outrageous
'Airplane Mode' is a comedy based on the 1980 movie 'Airplane!'. It has just a sprinkle of racism, sexism and a tad of discrimination for the purpose of comedy, which doesn't go over well with the current snowflake culture. It contains a lot of internet famous people, most not really liked by the media, hence why the movie has such a bad rating.
As a person that didn't know most of the actors I thought this movie was hilarious. It has comedy going continuously without making the characters completely unrealistic. I do have to give it a 9 as the baby parts were just... odd. There's however quite a few times when I cracked up laughing. Not just me really, the friends I watched it with were equally surprised at this movie only being rated a 3/10.
It's definitely an upgrade compared to the 'Fred: The Movie' and 'Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever'.
If you're a 25-35 year old who isn't 'too' familiar with Logan or any of the other actors but just wants to have a great laugh - nearly Seth Rogen style - this is definitely worth the watch!
Girl (2020)
just watchable
It's an okay movie in a pretty unrealistic scenery, with a lot of weird people that talk in riddles.
The Art of Self-Defense (2019)
Slow and awful
This movie was extremely slow with the lead actor (played by Jesse) being completely unrelatable. As the characters share their personal stories you also won't be catching feels. This script seems to be written around a dog dying. It's horrible.
The Perfection (2018)
revenge plot
Allison Williams gave me Kirsten Steward Twilight vibes. The only scary part was in the trailer. The plots is lame and unoriginal. The characters had unnatural emotions. It's a no from me. I thought it was terrible.
The New Mutants (2020)
Unlike x-men
This is a drama action movie with some 'Silent Hill' like monsters, 'Sucker Punch' like combat with a trace of 'Girl, Interrupted' psychiatric hospital scenes.
A lot of these reviews seem to confuse this movie with another movie. There's no rain or actual darkness and this doesn't play in a small town in America but rather in a medical facility. There's no gun violence. The CGI is fabulous.
This movie is absolutely worth a watch, however it's not like any Marvel movie. I do agree the accents they made Anya & Charlie portray were awful and completely unnecessary. They often spent too much time on regular scenes that could've been spent on the story itself.
I See You (2019)
storyline on point
Amazing writing with a great and powerful plot twist, you can't see coming. You'll question all the characters and their sanity. The acting was great, the camera and sound group did amazing. I'm a bit disappointed with the ending not bringing up more details, but this is a gem of a thriller movie!
The Jack in the Box (2019)
Best described as MEH
The characters were portrayed unrealistically. The movie didn't have decent sound effects neither as suspense build-up. No emotional connection to anyone getting murdered. Everything was just very 'meh'. It was awkwardly slow too, if there's an option to put it on +2 speed in the case you do decide to watch it, I'd suggest using that.
The only thing worthy in this movie was camera placement and movement.
Bad Therapy (2020)
NOT A COMEDY
Movie was more of a lame drama than anything else. It wasn't funny at all, it didn't even try to be. If anything it might've moved more to become a thriller.
I Am Lisa (2020)
High quality for low budget
It's your basic werewolf movie, a bit in the style of Ginger Snaps. I think this movie deserves a lot more credit. The only thing it was lacking was a decent script, the story seemed dull and emotionless. It could've definitely used more of a background story instead of some fill up scenes of them eating or watching television.
Besides for that, The camera man did an amazing job, the sound quality was perfect, the actors were all exceptional, the make-up was decent; even had a bit of Buffy the Vampire Slayer vibes. I'm especially impressed with the after effect, the tone set for the movie and the added music fit perfectly. If it wasn't for the script, this would've been a top hit movie.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018)
Legit review
This is a dark, grim series about Sabrina, a teenage witch. Not a family series, not humoristic, not a love story and certainly not a remake of the sitcom. For its genre it is currently pretty much one of the best fantasy / witch series out there. Easy to watch and not slow building. Salem, the cat, is still in there and has NOT been replaced by a black man as the other reviews say.
If you like Teen Wolf, Grimm, Supernatural, Riverdale, Lost Girl, Charmed, ... You will most likely be pleasantly surprised with this series. If you liked the original Sabrina and are looking for a comedy show, I advice you not to give this a shot as it is extremely different.
