The review is based upon all the expectation that this last movie created and what we got used to from past great movies.
Is definitely the worst movie of the saga: to give an idea of the context, this is the movie that maybe, and I say maybe, the Bourne saga could have started. Movie after movie, the Bourne saga was getting better and better, being true to what we saw on the first movie and making use of the best ingredients of an action movie. This last movie is a mix of to much but in little proportions and with no connection. It lacks of all that made Bourne movies great.
The whole story lacks of cohesion, plot, characters, context, fight, car scenes - which use to be amazing on previous movies -. Everything is just too simple, to normal, maybe good for a very first movie, but not for the forth and possibly last sequence.
As part of the audience i got no WoW moment, nothing came out unexpected, even the chasing/plot was better on previous movies. And I don't mean it had to be different, because being honest all Bourne movies have the same logic and even though you know what is going to happen (most likely), you get some wows and emotion going on.
We go used to see Bourne as someone extraordinary, but after 123 minutes of movie, it seems he is no longer the same guy. I'm missing the type of scenes or situations that only Jason Bourne can pull out; crazy escapes, being ahead of everyone's moves, driving like Ken Block or taking punches and bullets and still walking away like a pro. As I said before, it might have those, but it very little proportions and with no story behind that can link them properly.
If this is the last sequence of Bourne, the general feeling is....mahhh.

Have to say that is on my list of favorite movies.
The story itself might be hard to believe, fantasy or shallow. But is a movie that delivers in every sense. Even if is about smell, that is actually the only sense you wont have directly stimulated. The combination of an outstanding soundtrack, with beautiful scenography, photography and framing makes it so stimulating, is like you almost can smell the scent, or at least really want to smell and try what the characters are feeling. Full of non predictable scenes and story, which makes the package of the entire movie an totally worth watching. The acting brings a big quota to the quality, really good main character.
Honestly, and I have to say it again; great soundtrack, great visual and good story.
Be open to it, have a good mood and enjoy.

Honestly one of the worst movies I've seen so far, and so one of the lowest scores i've given to a movie.
The quality of the movie is just awful on every aspect; Visual effects, the scrip, the story, the acting and even the length. For a movie this awful, more than two hours is a huge challenge.... to the viewers! Is so hard to watch!. Just to give you an example; the helicopters on the movie (all of them) are computer made, and they look so fake, the major explosion, effects and so on are also computer made and they don't bring anything to the movie. Bollywood effects are better. Expendables 3 compares perhaps with Nigerian low budget visual effect movies.
Indeed I felt exited on the first movie of the Expendables, just for the fact of having all the actors I grew up watching on TV, now on a single movie. However memory played a trick on me, and maybe for the 80's, the quality of acting of them was good, but not for today's standards, most of them have no proper training on acting and all of them deliver a quite bad overall experience. Antonio Banderas tried to make something cool, but again, the scrip, story and effect made no contribution to his acting.
I really hope they don't come up with a 4th version of this awful set of movies.
Let's be honest, they were stars in the 80's, but let the 80's be their time. This movies are just a joke, if I want to go back to the 80's I watch Commando or Rocky or something like that, and believe me, those movies are way better than the Expendables trilogy, at least they are classic movies.
Sorry for the heroes of my childhood, but their time has passed.
