Starting from humble beginnings tearing tickets and sweeping floors, he quickly rose through the ranks, eventually managing a regional theater chain. Here, he delved into the intricacies of box office performance, concession margins, team management, and audience engagement, honing a keen understanding of the entire theatrical experience.

Brandon’s dedication led him to Excel Entertainment, where he advanced from Marketing Director to overseeing the release and marketing of dozens of films annually, both in theaters and on DVD. This experience inspired him to establish Purdie Distribution, a consulting firm that guides filmmakers on how to produce and effectively market their films.

Today, as one of the top executives in the theatrical distribution industry, Brandon Purdie serves as Executive Vice President, Global Head of Theatrical Distribution & Brand Development at Angel Studios. Here, he leads high-impact distribution strategies and oversees brand development for each film in the company’s portfolio, bringing together creative vision and data-driven market insights to maximize audience reach and engagement. In addition to his executive role, Brandon is a dedicated advocate for independent film, serving on the Executive Board of Directors for the Zions Indie Film Fest.

Throughout his career, Brandon has championed a variety of impactful and beloved films. At Angel Studios, he has been instrumental in the release of titles like His Only Son, Sound of Freedom (starring Jim Caviezel), After Death (featuring interviews with medical professionals and near-death experience survivors), The Shift (with Neal McDonough), Cabrini (with David Morse), Sight (starring Greg Kinnear), and Sound of Hope. This holiday season, Angel Studios brings Bonhoeffer, a story of resilience based on the life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and Homestead to audiences, continuing his mission to share inspiring stories that resonate on a global scale.
