His show did very well! The network decided to dump it, because in some parts of this 'GREAT' country of ours, some TV stations were not willing to air a show hosted by a black man. Listen people, we've come a long way from those kind of days. **The U.S. has been referred to as a melting pot, because so many people from other countries have been kicked out, or want better for their families and for themselves, so this is where they all came! Those people were our ancestors! Can guess what group of people didn't come here of their own free will? (I'm sure you can!)** Let's face it, the show was hip! And also an eye opener for those of us who watched its original airing. As with all things new, the show did become tiring, but that wasn't Arsenio's fault! -I'm not sure who is to blame, but since he was "in charge", I suppose the blame does fall to him.
Andrew "Dice" Clay plays "Dice". I'm used to the movie box cover where the guy is sitting on the hood of a Porsche. This is a story of a "my parents are rich, and so am I" kid, who tires of attending Prep School, so he hires Judd Nelson's character to play him while he vacations/travels around. -He gets tired of travel, so he returns.., -I'm not at liberty to say anymore, so you'll have to watch the movie to see what happens! It is a decent movie; kind of "B-movieish", but well worth the watch if you get the chance. (Please, if you see this video in the rental store, rent it! You won't be sorry, I promise you.) Gordon Jump (WKRP's Arthur 'Big Guy' Carlson) plays the Dean. Not a big role in the film, but a part he played well. Good story; Funny movie, and I recommend it highly.
This may not have been THE best of the Police Academy film series, but it also wasn't the worst. As with most comedy film series, old and new elements(and characters) are mixed together to bring you a new chapter to the continuing story. Some of the "gags" may be similar, but unless you're going to sit down and watch all seven of the films back-to-back-to-back-to-back.., you may not notice. The Academy Officers go down to Florida to honor Commodant Eric Lassard (George Gaynes). Eric's nephew joins in as the new male lead, taking over for Steve Guttenberg's 'Carey MaHony' character. Comedy insues along with a chase, or two. It's great when a sequel comes along, and most (if not all) of the original cast shows up, too! In this case, most do! :)
