Back in the age of Double Dare, Funhouse and Finders Keepers came the disastrous Think Fast. Hosted by the creepy Michael Carrington(then later the wacky Skip Lackey), two teams competed in a number of events that would "boggle the mind as well as the bodies."The events varied from throwing eggs to memorizing facts about cheezy poems read by silly characters(like Lexy-man from the future,Hillbilly Paisly Lovebeeds,Mrs. Worry-who always worries). The the team that won an event would try to solve a puzzle. Each time an event was over,a piece of the puzzle would come off and it showed a piece of the picture puzzle. The team that solved the puzzle would go on to the LOCKER ROOM!There were a series of 20 lockers with one character each.each character had an exact equal in another locker. Once in the locker room it was up to the kids one at a time open the lockers and match every character. They had 1 minute.
The games in this gameshow were cheaply made and could easily be duplicated at home from a few dollars. Michael Carrington was the most unprepared game show host of all time.He was always messing up his lines and having to look out to the side and ask what to do.He would sometimes stop in the middle of a sentence and lose his train of thought. He had no business with a microphone. He always forgot the kids names and always seemed to creep them out. I guess he creeped them out enough that the producers replaced him with the joyous boykid Skip Lackey. He was so happy and enthusiastic to be a host of an unpopular game show. His fake excitement could not save this mess of a show. As the younger brother of Double Dare, there was no slime,no cool prizes nor a super obstacle course. They received the leftovers. Somehow it was on two seasons, but now it seems to be gone forever, thank god.

Ths Jar, released in 1984, follows the day to day life of Paul as his life changes for the eerie after picking up a creepy old hitchiker. The old man vanishes but not before he leaves a mysterious object in a paper bag,hence-the jar. Paul then starts to experience strange illusions, one of which has his bath tub fill up with blood in which we get to witness some really cheap camera-trickish special effects. Paul then meets a new female neighbor, who seems to take an instant interest in dating him, despite the fact that she barely knows him and that he acts extremely quiet and creepy. This film is a complete mess from start to finish. There are so many meaningless points of this film-a part when we watch from the outside as Paul goes into a candy store and buys candy, we do not see him inside, but watch the door for 30 seconds. Its as though the filmmakers were just to lazy to get permission to shoot a scene inside. The female lead is a character that contributes absolutely nothing to this movie. All we know about her is that she has an attraction for schizophrenic single white males and bad movie roles(this movie). The acting is worse than "cue card reading" acting, the characters are shallow and out of place, the camera work is so much off its pathetic, and the special effects look like something out of a bargain bin.I do not recommend this film. This movie makes the countless slashers with masked killers look like masterpieces.
