Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe (2016)
The information in this film will one day become common knowledge.
I would not describe this as an anti-vaccine film, rather it focuses on the MMR vaccine which when introduced in 1987 was quickly removed from the market in Ontario when it was found to cause meningitis. It was then marketed in the U.K under a different name for 4 years before being pushed onto third world markets. It has been found that by administering the MMR vaccine after the age of 3 rather than before 18 months decreases the risk of autism 7 fold.
Dr William Thompson of the C.D.C (Center for Disease Control) exposed the cover-up and through his actions evidence was provided to the U.S Congress that vaccines containing the preservative thimerisol are linked to the exponential increase in the rates of autism. This information was never acted on. Obviously some powerful people in the establishment don't want to see their heads roll. By 2032 it is estimated 80% of males born will develop autism if trends continue. Obviously genetics is not the issue here.
The information in this documentary will eventually have to come out. In the mean time the establishment will continue to protect it's interests by debunking and ignoring this amazing story of what will prove to be the biggest public health disaster in human history, one that were it not for human greed and the public's ignorance could have been prevented.
A One World Agenda: The Illuminati (2015)
A bit dry, actually, a big bit!
Like most I was nearly put off watching this due to it's abysmally low rating of 2.6. Nevertheless I decided to go against the opinions of the multitudes that have both seen and rated this film (26 to be exact). After all, you don't find stuff like this on free-to-air. There are a few aspects of this doc' that could have caused viewers to rate it so poorly. Firstly, the narrator's voice will bore you to death. A lot of interesting information but presented badly. Trust me, you will get bored! Secondly, the film tends to concentrate on the Jesuits. I'm afraid Jews and Aliens don't get a mention which should tell you something. Lastly, it's quite low budget. Some nice pictures and CGI's but it could have been put together for a few grand- and probably was. In all, there's not much new here if you're already well versed in this topic.
Hesher (2010)
The worst i've seen in a long time.
It's not often I give a movie a one star rating, in fact i've only ever done it for 0.13% of the 2500+ movies i've ever seen, but then "Hesher" was an exception. The label of "hilarious" on the front cover of the DVD could not be more misleading. I found nothing in this movie to be even mildly amusing. Take Hesher's gate-crashing of the funeral at the final scene and his drunken, profanity laced diatribe about losing a testicle. Why somebody didn't get up and throw the guy out on his ear is beyond me. I was half expecting the casket to topple over as it was being led down the street with Piper Laurie's body landing on the road before getting run over by a truck. That might have been funny (in a kinda sick way) and led me to giving it 2 stars not 1. What was Piper Laurie thinking to accept a role in this piece of trash. Hardly the way to end a distinguished career! Simply put; the characters in this movie are irritating, especially Hesher. His tattoos look like they were drawn on him by a retarded 3 year old. They were completely unrealistic and made him look like an idiot. His character was a complete jerk void of even the most basic of social etiquette. The only thing good about him was his taste in music - very little of which was even played in the movie. So if you're after a head-banging comedy this sure ain't it unless you enjoy watching some of the most debased forms of psychopathic behavior ever portrayed in a movie.
The King Is Dead! (2012)
"Interesting" but lacking in some ways.
Often on the lookout for a good Aussie movie I couldn't pass by the opportunity to view this film having noticed it during the previews a couple of weeks ago. To most who have viewed it the 5.5 rating is quite understandable, it certainly isn't to all tastes. The language at times coming from the Bogan neighbours does tend to be a bit much after 90 minutes. If hearing the c--- word over and over bothers you then this may not be to your taste. If you grew up in Western Sydney you'll realise that this is way most of them talk. The 3 main Bogan characters are designed to be obnoxious and pull it off quite convincingly. However no self-respecting Bogan would reach adulthood without being covered in tattoos, otherwise quite realistic and with a combined IQ of about 40 to match! The yuppy couple, Max and Therese are also quite interesting though not as bright as you would think their professions warrant. Max is clearly someone who'll go to any lengths necessary to avoid conflict with anyone which puts him in quite a quandary what with his wife pushing him to confront their trashy neighbours. Like a lot of guys he's a big wuss at heart. So begins a series of badly thought out plots which never meet their objective i.e to get rid of the neighbours from hell. The plot is full of holes and stupidity reigns. Sometimes you wish you could knock Max and Theresa's heads together. Why didn't they at least have more than a cursory glance of what the house next door looked like before choosing to buy the place? I guess people have made the same mistake before but you can't help but think this couple bring most of their problems on themselves because of their stupidity. As for the couple on the other side, their roles were pointless, their characters superficial and as such somewhat peripheral overall(I still don't understand the garlic bit - was he trying to stop vampires moving in?). All up I found it was a movie I could sit through and even be entertained mainly by the interesting characters so long as I didn't sit there analysing it constantly. I'd say it's more a 6.1 than a 5.5 which I know is a bit generous but I do believing in encouraging the Austalian film industry which though they have produced some crap over the years, have on occasion come up with the odd gem. Sadly this is no gem.
