Alice: Madness Returns (2011)
ALICE: MADNESS RETURNS: Dark Wonderland
ALICE: MADNESS RETURNS (2011) is a sequel game to the first "Alice" (2000) game.
The game is far more than just a typical sequel. It offers an expansive story to the dark stories of Wonderland previously explored in its predecessor (and some very dark differences to the classic fantasy novel, "Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll.)
"10 year old Alice Liddell lost her family in a fire. For 10 years after, she remained catatonic in an asylum, blamed for the fire and deemed insane, while her condition caused Wonderland to turn - dark."
Overall, this game an excellent gothic journey into the twisted side of Wonderland. It has a very compelling story and visual art, creepy atmosphere, this was a great game.
The Dark Pictures: Little Hope (2020)
LITTLE HOPE: Ghost Town in the Fog
DARK PICTURES ANTHOLOGY: LITTLE HOPE (2020) is a very interesting installment in the Dark Pictures Anthology series.
Compared to other games in the series, and without any spoilers, this game focuses on aspects of psychology as much as it does the ghosts and apparitions of the past.
"After their bus crashes, four college students and their professor end up stranded on the outskirts of a seemingly abandoned New England town whose dark history of witch trials has made it the home of a mysterious, supernatural evil."
Overall, this game is filled with an interesting mix of horror, mystery, history and drama. It adds a whole new and original faucet to the greater anthology. An intriguing and fun game!
Full House (1987)
FULL HOUSE: Sweet Family Sitcom
FULL HOUSE (1987-1995) is a really sweet family sitcom with lots of drama and comedy. The bonds of family are tried and tested, relationships grow and strengthen.
"A widowed sportscaster raises his three daughters with assistance from his rock and roll brother-in-law and madcap best friend."
Overall, Full House is a sweet family sitcom that portrayed an unconventional but deeply loving family. It follows a single dad (a widower) and has two brothers as they share a home with his children. I had watched much of it during its original run time and found it very sweet and memorable. The series is very heart-warming and touching. A good watch!
Boy Meets World (1993)
BOY MEETS WORLD: 90's Teen Sitcom
BOY MEETS WORLD (1993-2000) is an enjoyable, and light-hearted show featuring American teens in the 90's. It is a funny, touching and memorable series with plenty of humor and romance.
"An adolescent with two siblings tests his various theories about life as he endures the trials of growing up alongside a good friend."
Overall, this show is a great watch, especially if you enjoy 90's throwbacks television. I caught this series in its original run but didn't appreciate it as much as I do nowadays. It had more depth than many of the Disney shows on presently. It was definitely worth the watch.
Saved by the Bell (1989)
SAVED BY THE BELL: 90's Teen Sitcom
SAVED BY THE BELL (1989-1992) was a really light-hearted, heart-warming sitcom that features a group of teenaged friends in Palisades, California, and their interwoven dramas, romances and adventures.
"A close-knit group of six friends get through their teens together while attending Bayside High School in Palisades, California."
This show was something I used to watch in its original run along with a few other shows. It was a memorable show. Overall, this series was a cute teen / family sitcom with drama, romance and comedy. Recommended if you like 80's abd 90's retro throwback series. An entertaining show!
Madame Magenta: Sonos Mystica (2020)
MADAME MAGENTA: Mystery Comedy Podcast
MADAME MAGENTA: SONOS MYSTICA (2020 - ) is a quirky mystery comedy podcast made by Long Cat Media (the creators of the British podcast Mockery Manor). It has a bit of everything, but it is overwhelmingly a paranormal comedy, with much hilarity and shenanigans.
This podcast is somewhat of a spinoff series, and a fun and an entertaining one, filled with eccentric characters and interesting stories. This show, like Mockery Manor podcast, is a very enjoyable series.
Overall, this a pretty great show. Really enjoying everything by Long Cat Media (Lindsay Sharman and Laurence Owen). High quality and great entertainment. Highly recommended.
The Dark Pictures: House of Ashes (2021)
HOUSE OF ASHES: Ancient Evil in the Middle East
THE DARK PICTURES ANTHOLOGY: HOUSE OF ASHES (2021) is a really great installment to the series. I personally enjoyed this one more than Man of Medan.
The characters are all pretty interesting and some were compelling enough. They all had original personalities and back stories and I appreciated the (Non- Western / American) story of Salim as well, giving more depth to the geographic region the story takes place in.
"A group of American marines comes across an underground nest of pure, ancient evil while trekking through the Arabian desert."
As per my usual, I played this game with a group of friends and it thoroughly entertained us. While not super scary, it certainly held tension and offers a very cool story (and creature). Fun trying to make split second decisions and keep your characters alive. A great installment in the series!
Moesha (1996)
MOESHA: Teen Sitcom & Family Drama
MOESHA (1996-2001) starring the gorgeous and iconic Brandy Norwood, was a really great family sitcom drama. This series is a bit light hearted, and definitely started off stronger than it ended. (Grrr, that cliffhanger!) But it was a lovable and memorable show nonetheless.
"A teenager struggles to come to terms with everything life throws at her."
Overall, this series was a really good show, a youth centered coming-of-age, family drama, about a black, African-American teen in the mid 90's. Among other great, diverse sitcom dramas of the time (Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Sister Sister, Family Matters etc.) Moesha really added to the mix.
Brandy was exceptional as always, clever, funny and gorgeous as well. Why aren't there more shows like this? Wholesome diverse, family shows? A really good show!
Virgin River (2019)
VIRGIN RIVER: Small Town Medical Drama
VIRGIN RIVER (2019 - ) is a fairly soapy medical drama that takes place in a small town in supposedly Northern California, called Virginia River (but is actually very clearly and obviously filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia / Canada.)
The series is quite emotional and at times pretty cheesy too. I watched this for my mother, who was quite into it while it was a cleaner, more wholesome family series (in the earlier seasons). It's mostly a decent show, originally more of a family friendly drama, that gradually became a bit more of a cheesey soap opera series relying on overused plots and tropes.
"Seeking a fresh start, nurse practitioner Melinda Monroe moves from Los Angeles to a remote Northern California town and is surprised by what and who she finds."
Well made and very beautiful in terms of visuals, (Canada is beautiful!) this series eventually lost its charms for me as the series went on. The characters all became irritating and predictable. And the same issues became really over used and redundant. (Drama, Misunderstandings, breakups, cheating, miscarriages, trauma, abuse etc.) Mostly valid issues but over done for the sake of drama.
Overall, it started strong but just became more and more tedious as it went on. I wish the focus remained more directly on the small town medical practice aspect rather than the personal relationship dramas.
Grey's Anatomy (2005)
GREY'S ANATOMY: Soapy Med Drama
GREY'S ANATOMY (2005 - )was one of those shows that I have very mixed feelings about. It is a medical romance drama that had some potential but eventually wasn't really my jam. Gives very American styled soap opera vibes, in the context of a medical drama.
"A drama centered on the personal and professional lives of five surgical interns and their supervisors."
Overall, I never really got invested in the characters persobal dramas, but the medical aspect was interesting and well done. In the end, it was just not for me (as opposed to House M. D., The Good Doctor, etc.). Recommended for fans of romcoms, soapy dramas, and American medical series.
Wellington Paranormal (2018)
WELLINGTON PARANORMAL: Brilliant Mockumentary
WELLINGTON PARANORMAL (2018-2022) is a pretty hilarious mockumentary based in New Zealand. It follows a task force of paranormal investigators as they research strange events. While it has plenty of distinctive Kiwi humor, I found it highly enjoyable in a general sense as well.
"Sergeant Maaka, and Officers Minogue and O'Leary, are members of the Wellington, New Zealand, police. Their job is to investigate paranormal phenomena."
This show was very funny, laugh out loud funny. A few times it even brought tears of laughter to my eyes. Satirical, slap sticky, awkward humor as well as some heaps of parody humor. This show was a great watch!
Boston Legal (2004)
BOSTON LEGAL: Excellent Legal Dramedy
BOSTON LEGAL (2004-2008) is an a very excellent and entertaining comedy / drama. It's a spin-off series of "The Practice". James Spader (of Blacklist reknown) is genius and compelling as always.
"Boston Legal is a spin-off of the long-running David E. Kelley series The Practice (1997), following the exploits of former Practice character Alan Shore (James Spader) at the legal firm of Crane, Poole, and Schmidt."
Overall this series, is a very interesting and entertaining legal drama. The characters are all memorable and unique but James Spader especially leaves a strong impression. He's witty, cunning, and hilarious. Of course Betty White is an gem as well!) This was a fun show to watch.
George Lopez (2002)
GEORGE LOPEZ SHOW: Silly Family Sitcom
GEORGE LOPEZ SHOW (2002-2007) is an entertaining family comedy. I watched this back in its original run time. George Lopez is paired with the lovely Constance Marie (as Angie Lopez) and together they laugh, love and grow. The show is a fun, eccentric and yet loving hispanic family television sitcom.
"Comedian George Lopez stars as a Los Angeles manufacturing plant manager attempting to deal with his wacky family along with random mishaps."
This was a funny and entertaining series, a nice light hearted show, good to pass time as well. Full of hilarity, shinanigans and touching, family drama. Overall, a good watch.
Metro Exodus (2019)
METRO: Exodus: Apocalyptic Russian Trilogy
METRO: Exodus (2019) is a great FPS, survival horror game, and the third in the Metro trilogy. Inspired / based on the writings of the Russian novelist Dmitry Glukhovsky (The Metro trilogy).
"26-year-old Artyom, flees the Metro in Moscow and sets off on a journey through the harsh nuclear winter in Russia."
The game follows Artyom as he further struggles through a dark apocalyptic Russian metro system, and into the desolate realm above. I've rated this game highly because of my love and enjoyment for it, as well as for how replayable it was. The story, music, characters and gameplay are all great, in my opinion.
This game, compared to the previous two, is certainly more open world. The world of Metro: Exodus is both breathtaking and devastating in its visuals.
METRO: Exodus really sets the stage for this epic survival apocalyptic trilogy and a great sequel to the first and second games. This series are among my favorite games ever. I personally have found them to be greatly enjoyable. Loved!

Dark Air with Terry Carnation (2021)
DARK AIR WITH TERRY CARNATION: Dark Comedy Podcast
DARK AIR with TERRY CARNATION (2021 - ) was a really great podcast, with a little bit of everything (Drama, Comedy, Sci-Fi, Mystery, Horror, and Fantasy). And of course, Rainn Wilson (Radio Rental, The Office) as the narrator called Terry Carnation, is great as usual.
"Fictional podcast that explores the on and off-air life of Terry Carnation, (voiced by Rainn Wilson) host of a late-night, AM radio talk show on the paranormal."

Harlem Queen (2019)
HARLEM QUEEN: Black History Podcast
HARLEM QUEEN (2019-2022) was a very interesting podcast audio drama. It's a historical fiction series that focuses on an array of characters and their interconnected lives and dramas. It was especially nice hearing about the fascinating life of Madame Stephanie St. Clair.
"Harlem Queen" an audio drama based on the life and times of "Numbers Queen" Madame Stephanie St. Clair during the Harlem Renaissance."

Metro 2033 Redux (2014)
METRO: 2033 REDUX: Pt 1 of Metro Trilogy
METRO: 2033 REDUX (2010) is a fantastic FPS, survival horror game, and the first in the Metro trilogy. Inspired / based on the writings of the Russian novelist Dmitry Glukhovsky (The Metro trilogy), the game follows a young man named Artyom as he struggles through a dark apocalyptic Russian metro system and world, seeking help for his people. I rate this game highly because of my love and enjoyment for it, as well as for its replayability.
The gameplay itself is highly playable, mechanically. While the controls may take a little getting used to, it's fairly intuitive. Smooth controls, straight forward goals, and ever expanding storyline. This game also has a wide variety of enemies; everything from mutants to Nazi's. The story, music, characters and gameplay are all great, in my opinion.
The game is highly driven by the strength of the narrative, but as well as the interesting storyline, the game atmosphere is superb and dark. You feel the claustrophobic heaviness as you wander through the mutant infested tunnels, as well as the vulnerability while being out in the vast ruins of the above frigid, and radiated Russia.
The apocalyptic world is so beautifully conveyed via cracked and caving in tunnels, cob webs and dust, leaking pipes, rust covered walls, moss and rot, corpses and decaying structures. Everything is grimey, muddy, dusty, moldy, rusty, mossy and bloody. The atmosphere is tense and oppressive. I really appreciate simple details as well, like the need to wipe off the eye portion of the gas mask, which is frequently dirtied by mud and blood.
While at times the graphics (specifically character movements) can be a little buggy, overall, the fascinating storyline and atmosphere far overshadows any graphical or audio imperfections, at least for me.
On top if it, this game has some of the best "survival game" features around set in a realistic world, with unique ragtag gear, limited resources, ammo scarcity, medic aids, gas mask filters, gieger counter, face masks replacements, compass, lighter, analog watch, portable charger etc. The differant game modes make this game more challenging as well.
The world of Metro 2033 is both breathtaking and devastating in its visuals. And though you may think to wander, every goal and objective is very clearly stated in the clip board journal along with a compass pointing to the next quest.
"Man has fallen, struggling to survive within Moscow's metro. In the face of a new mysterious threat young Artyom must leave his home station for the first time, making a dangerous journey to the legendary Polis to enlist their help."
METRO 2033 really sets the stage for this epic survival apocalyptic trilogy. These games are among my favorite games ever. I personally have found them to be highly enjoyable. My cup of tea.
Sidonia no Kishi (2014)
KNIGHTS OF SIDONIA: Sci-Fi Mech Anime
KNIGHTS OF SIDONIA (2014-2015) is a anime based on the original manga series written by Tsutomu Nihei.
This anime series is a really interesting science fiction mech-space opera. While it is sci-fi genre, there is definitely some junk science throughout. Even still, the series is still pretty cool, interesting characters, art, music and story, abd the graphics are really great.
"A thousand years after the destruction of Earth by gigantic aliens called Gauna, mankind is living on massive spaceships. One of these space ships is Sidonia, which is protected by large pilot controlled exosuits called Gardes."
Overall, thia anime is really cool and definitely worth a watch. Highly recommended for anime / manga fans, science fiction fans or even fans of mangaka / author Nihei's amazing story and illustrations.
