The writing is next level. The character development Vic got is fantastic, there are so many layers to the main characters and it makes the show absolutely fantastic.
Farrell's performance is nothing short of genius. The make up is absolutely perfect, but everything Farrell does is on point: the accent, the mannerisms, the limp, the way he delivers his lines, his emotional reactions.
This is how good tv is done. Particularly, this episode was magnificent. It's way better than the Batman movie in every way.
The plot is so well built. I can't wait to see where this goes. Best episode so far. The best part is that it doesn't need Batman at all.

It's a fun movie to watch with your girlfriend on a Saturday night. Even though is not memorable, John Cena steals the show. He's got great timing and delivery. I always thought his comedic work wasn't the best, but he proved me wrong this time. The guy can do comedy, and very very well.
The key here is low expectations. I'm a huge Bill Macy fan from this work on Shameless. Also, Zac Efron has been doing some great work, specially with Iron Claw. I imagine some people might be disappointed by these roles they picked, but again, low expectations is key. This is the John Cena show, and he excels at that, while the rest of the cast work as a platform for him to shine.
Don't take it too seriously, just enjoy it for what it is .

What can I say that other comments haven't said already? The movie was fantastic. It's grounded and full of heart and soul. Both Gyllenhaal and the actor playing Ahmed were tremendous, but it's the latter who steals the show. His portrayal of the character makes him compelling with very few lines, and his performance was stellar.
The director manages to keep you at the edge of your seat in all 3 acts. The action sequences were fantastic, but they feel more grounded than a standard American military movie that puts Americans vs the Taliban in gun fights. Starr, Ludwig and Miller have great secondary roles, even though they don't get much camera time.
Cinematography and music are award worthy.
Great film overall.
