so bad u may even forget who wrote the music during watching
19 July 2014
I am a huge fan of the situation not knowing what to expect from the next creation of mike patton, and it was really strange to see a film that has the signature of mike patton, without review. So i watch it just to write the first review on IMDb.

With 50,000 budget of course you don't expect to see an helicopter. The name perfect in the title must not mislead you. It looks like an experimental act from amateurs and of course not so close to anything perfect. Maybe you will feel near laughing a few times which is nice. Trying to be comedy , trying to be black comedy. I can hear mike patton's music without picture at least once each song, so i was sure it would be better with a movie and i liked some songs from perfect place that i heard so i was guessing it would be nice. I wasn't so sure after i saw the movie though. So really don't expect a movie better than his music and i even wander if he made the music before watching the movie. I mean they don't match very much song and movie. As if the movie was made after they hear the music and not the music after the movie, except the driving in the dark scene that music fits perfect. It would be better if there was music during all the movie so that u forget what u see.

Songs i liked: "a little poker tomorrow night?" and "A Perfect Place".

Statistics when i saw the movie (you know where): 1,153 view , 19 likes , 0 dislikes.

Anyway impossible to miss it if you are fan of mike. Better to watch it in a room without much light because the scenery is usually dark.

don't expect chainsaws cutting through faces
11 September 2013
Warning: Spoilers
through most of the movie, i had the feeling that i was zapping between different channels showing:

a) a family reality with 4 participants: sister , brother , sister's husband and brother's girlfriend (most of the time i watched this channel)

b) a seven months pregnant who mysteriously wake up without being pregnant anymore

c) video definition of a douchebag (a low intelligence man behaving ridiculously who believes that he is the center of the world). he belonged in the category of those who put a camera in your face and speak in the microphone from the moment they wake

d) something between paranormal activity(1,2,3,4,5) and blair witch project(1999) (i didn't watch this channel for more than 15 minutes)

so don't expect chainsaws cutting (slowly but surely) through faces, legs etc (no stabbing and the only drop of blood that comes to sight is when the ex-pregnant nose bleeds)

don't expect to laugh only in the first minutes (the douchebag can't stop messing with his friends throughout the film)

so if you are in a mood of saying 'not much horror for me today' and you want to go to the rest room while the movie is playing and you can laugh watching a prick annoying and filming his company and also want something paranormal in the horizon then you have a movie to watch.

a movie that keeps you guessing
24 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
For the biggest part of the movie i thought this was a five out of ten result at best. You have to find by yourselves why i changed my mind in the end and of course i 'll give you a clue: because of the relation between the first seconds of the movie and the movie itself.

If you liked exam (2009) stop reading reviews and go watch it now. This movie has its audience. Nevertheless you can't avoid watching lots of clichés.

As happens in almost every movie in the world (so why not in every review) there must be a subconscious message for you to stop watching this movie and go for a cigarette or to start smoking again if you have quit smoking.

The music was fitting with the movie and i liked that there was also a low volume background music even when there were dialogs. Scenes outside the room made the film less claustrophobic.

Don't expect an acting nomination.Katerina Mikailenko is mrs legs and David Dastmalchian is mr nerd face.

Information for audiences with tennis knowledge : Matthew Willig ( with the bandana ) reminded me of Juan Martin del Potro which made him the funny character for me.

Would you like to be in the same room with strangers? Would you like to watch others try?

nice movie to watch
24 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Well made film, nice directing, almost good acting, believable (and a little sick) romance, good suspense twists and turns throughout the film.

At the end of this film you will not say, "who is going to give me back this time?" Just don't expect the greatest movie ever made but a decent movie for its budget and maybe forget logic questions inconsistencies or plot holes.

During the movie the viewer grows feelings of sympathy for the loving couple.

Not very disturbing r rated.

Recommended time to watch: Monday night

cult surreal underground sarcastic hilarious banned meetings of nikos alevras
19 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
i have a kind of relation with this timeless diamond. when i was very young i was really shocked watching the start of this movie. it was shown only once on public television channel ert2 (the only channels at that moment were state channels ert1 and ert2) in Greece (may 1984) for almost twenty minutes, before broadcasters realized that it featured nudity and explicit content (for those that refuse to wake up and enjoy mass hypnosis of the generally accepted movie stereotypes) and cut it off the air for the first time ever in Greece. in the next few days everybody was speaking about it (without knowing the rest of the movie) and then everybody forgot it. today after about 30 years i thought it was a good time to laugh with my young self and watch what on earth shocked me that day. of course i was absolutely sure that today i wouldn't be shocked and that i would laugh with how easy i was shocked when i was young. far from truth. today i was even more shocked. the movie information (director, stars, writer, producer) in the beginning had moans instead of a song to accompany , and i was again shocked with the few soft but unbelievably awkward nudity scenes in the first 12 minutes. Greek director (and much more) nikos alevras also plays himself even in the first scenes of the movie (showing us in a surreal way the first meetings (and memories) of his life). during the movie he tells us that he wants to make us angry at moments so i think that explains why he did such a great job. he can make us angry but don't forget that this was his purpose. who prefers indifferent movies? the movie was also censored in Greece (another reason to watch it). i was so impressed that i could give many names to this review such as: 'a must see lesson for every young director who wants to change the world of cinema and escape clichés' or 'an alarm for all of us that lose our time without love '. the director enjoys improvisation, shooting in natural areas, with natural light and sound (lots of traditional songs (lullabies etc)). some scenes could easily make a nice colored history documentary for all Greek people that have memories of Greek places in 1975something or for the younger ones that only hear descriptions from their parents and grand mothers for that period. due to very few scenes this is an r rated movie. when i saw over 2 hours duration, i thought that i would surely stop watching at the first minutes but now i am sad it ended. i hope you find subtitles for this and that the views will be much more. i have never experienced watching a movie like this before. the writer, director, actor nikos alevras (which is his alias from alevri which is the Greek word for flour that is used to make cookies) has really something to say here. it's obvious that this creation is not aiming to make material profit. he directed again after 30 years at 2007. i'll try for the exact translation of the Greek title of this movie: there is a hail of bullets and the wounded artist moans. niko has just changed one word from the lyrics of a traditional song for this title. (a little easier to understand after you watch the movie). unfortunately i don't expect many to understand and thus to appreciate this movie.

the biggest truth is the ones said in jokes. unforgettable, unmissable, unique movie !

a good art film, but don't expect a fast movie film
18 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
the movie starts with piano and this is just the beginning of an excellent soundtrack. also in the first five minutes you can hear the birds singing and the sound of the water in a fountain.

it is difficult not to get a little bored but so seem to be the characters sometimes

beautiful rosamund pike plays Zoe hughes a not very capable actor in the shadow of her (international famous movie star until before 10 years when she stopped ) mother kathryn vale especially now that her mother is thinking to return with a new role just after publishing her book and 3 months after her new marriage with script writer jake.

the question from the start of the movie is if kathryn vale has been involved with the killing of her rich ex husband. the message you get when you see her new life with her younger husband is that she looks suspect but there are also other suspects around.

it's a movie for those that stare at the details of a dress ,at the tone of a voice...for those who prefer to see what the actor feels and not says

another interesting character is mother's assistant who helps her to schedule the needed appointments for interviews and much more. she looks like a bad person but first of all she only cares about the mother. she doesn't have to say hello or goodbye even to daughter.

close the lights in your room take a drink relax and watch this nice movie with lots of fashion costumes, that feels like a style fest with beautiful atmosphere ,sound and acting

the movie goes from one adventure to another while being funny
18 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
what i expect before watching this movie

from the first minute i saw mat dillon is starring in this comedy i knew i was totally going to watch it and i really hoped i would laugh.

then i saw brendan fraser who is not my first option actor to watch after his not even a bit humorous to me acting in the tagged with comedy movie furry vengeance (2010) in which movie he also was executive producer.

when i saw paul walker i thought i should expect things to get worse if he plays a too cool for human role. i even started to hope that he will be needed only for car scenes in the movie. on the other hand the albanian heritage actor is among the 14 producers of this movie which looks good to me after the fact that his first producing movie attempt was also in 2013 when he was executive producer (between 6 producers) in the not so bad (for first attempt) movie vehicle 19 (2013) then i saw a little more than just every man's fantasy: 20 women play the same role: johnny's girl. with the speed of light i went to see who plays johnny and there was elijah wood whose face looks funny enough to deal with 20 women.

after all these i was ready to watch the result of all the above in the movie itself and now after i watched the movie

paul walker was not expected to be the best comedian and watching him trying to be funny seemed that it wasn't working in the beginning. comedians should act as if everything is normal to become funny but in this movie he tried to exaggerate a lot even by moving his eyeballs strange. all of a sudden after some time he becomes funny in his own way. i started to think that i have to admire that paul walker tries to play a different (comedy) role in this movie and i hope he plays more comedies with hillbilly accent and dirty teeth or not . also his productions have future in the business.

unexpectedly for me brendan fraser really rocks here. he makes an unrecognizable entrance in the movie and he was really funny in every scene i saw him.

unfortunately the most expected appearance (mat dillon) takes place after 30 minutes and with him starts the (black comedy) plot and at least one disturbing scene.

effects are working but music could be better except from what is heard from the big black chevrolet gmc junior monster truck ( which was cool for metal fans (like me) only )

so after what i expected this can't have a less than 7 out of 10 vote from me. if you liked one tarantinolike movie i think you will find this at least watchable. i am almost thinking to watch it again
