I dunno. This movie is just....boring. And trying too hard to be a little edgy but the dialogue falls flat and just comes off as uninteresting. The characters are all charmless and there's no one to really care about or root for. Ken just talks way too much without saying anything at all. And he doesn't know how to use duct tape properly. As always, make up your own mind, but I'd pass on this.
Feels like a tv soap opera. The musical cues are an incredibly odd choice. Low brow. Low budget. Overall, just bland and lackluster and lacking in comedy for anything from 1997. This is trying desperately to be Clerks but has no semblance of what commentary it's trying to make or what humor even is. As always, watch for yourself and come to your own conclusions, but dang. This is bad.
I saw another reviewer compare this to Napoleon Dynamite and I will say they are similar in the way that they both don't really go anywhere or they're not really about anything. This movie was boring and the protagonist was unlikable and largely unrelatable. I can see his struggles but his unwillingness to own up to anything and only lash out at society is such a played out trope at this point and his goals were seemingly meaningless. As always, watch the film and make up your own mind, but I won't be viewing this again.
