The other side of war, and it's a side I'd much prefer. Although Emily Lloyd, gets b**ody annoying, it's such a captivating performance, as the high strung daughter who's father died in the war. Now residing with her Uncle (an Amazing Willis), she's intent, or I should obsessed, with finding everything on her father. She has a sort of trashy boyfriend, she doesn't really love and has a one night stand, with a man, 30 years her senior, a familiar FULL MEAL jacket face, and Terry is really good to as ex marine, now motor mechanic, displaying haunting emotions, so believable, still clearly affected. But it's Willis who really deserves the acting acclaim here, stealing every scene he's in. We really come to like these characters and wanna know more about. The acting is first rate here, by everyone, who really pull their socks up, and gets us involved in their characters. A much respectful and unforgettable ending too. A near two hour engaging war drama, In Country should be watched by anyone in every country. And whatever happened with great actress Lloyd? She came and went. She really did get on my nerves in this, though.
Jessie the body Ventura kicks as a leading man, and I only wish he had better material. He's one of the ex WWF party who can actually act as evidenced in other films. He carries this film, with great prowess, owhere he plays a steel bodied alien cop, after an adversary sort of terminator, also steel bodied (another Running Man face) who's watched one too many Arnie shows, or he's just not a very good imitator, his acting presence is felt strong here. He's after this 5 year old boy, his son actually, very advanced, and again can hurt, with a very intense look, if provoked. The son could prove very valuable to the evil guy of steel, where good guy Ventura isn't gonna let that happen. I don''t go more into the story, where for me, it got patchy here and there, if even pathetic, turd brained. Marjorie Bransfield, the son's mother, a hottie, is caught in the middle. We also have a wasted cameo by James Belushi, as a principal and get this, his surname just so happens to be Latimer. Not without interest, Abraxas is worth a view, if really only for the fine Ventura, our new kind of hero. But really, its very bad. I appreciated the hopeful ending of story.
Move over, we have a new hero. And we can feel his pain, running red in his veins. From the word 'Go', we are catapulted into an an revenge frenzy with heart. A smart action movie, about a man who almost considers himself dead, when his boy fatally gets caught in a cross fire. Between two warring scum gangs. For our hero getting involved, it costs his voice box. What I like in this awesome revenge film, we really feel what he's really feeling, and why he's doing what he's doing. Woo woos again in a plentitude of exciting action at breakneck pace. We also have really good dramatic performances. We really cheer on the good guy and highly await, the revenge he'll dish out. The next 24'th Dec angle I REALLY LIKE too. The day of execution, and a beautifully appreciative ode as to his wife. The action movie really works on a realistic and understanding plane. Some nice flashbacks of better times, with now, a man, crazily revenge obsessed, (the highest I've ever seen in film) severing everything around him. A one man plan of determined vengeance, well executed. Plan to see this one. Don't let it slip by.
