Greetings friends readers, in brief words will tell them why Ponchao is not a good movie, that might well be... The director of the film, Josh Crook does not provide us the best of his talent, which we saw in La Soga in 2009. Here we can just enjoy a good photography and a couple of shots that are worth mentioning. The script is bad, does not have a logical sequence and therefore we did not get to identify with the characters, something so important in the film. We do not understand the story completely by the deficiencies of the script. What has the movie are the performances, was worried about Manny Pérez, never imagined it as a comedy actor, but the truth is that I was surprised as well handled by the subject and how it makes us laugh with their excesses. The rest of the cast is fine, even the television characters that on other films had been deficient, here do well. Ponchao has good jokes that will make you laugh, but if you are looking for is a good film, not will find. If you want to laugh no matter the content, then Ponchao is an option. I'd like to see Manny Pérez a character such as the of the rope where they gave their best in every sense of the word.
Greetings dear readers, Quién Manda? is a lightweight romantic comedy that keeps a rhythm from the beginning until the end. The pace is good and pleases. Everything starts with a playboy (Perozo) that will conquer women for then leave them at the end of three months of relationship where it considered that now things will get complicated. In his loving Odyssey meets Nathalie (Bogaert) that is his female counterpart in regard to conquest and abandonment at three months.
The story is good, very well told by Ronni Arias that despite their ill- advised shots at times, does pretty well to be debuting on the big screen. The main couple, Perozo-Bogaert, works perfectly, until we came to believe that both are in fact something more than professional work. The rest of the cast is at the level of commitment, with a Cuquín victory in his most funniest role in dominican movies.
There are a couple of sub-stories the director and screenwriter leaves and it's a shame, as it is the case of the first girlfriend of Perozo, to bring back it to the end would have been (warning spoiler) luxury. Parent-child relationship leaves himself loose, and also the end, in the program of TV, which is too short and we feel that they could take advantage and give at the end, which is not bad, a little more than intensity.
Always we have complained of bad comedies in our cinema, now have a good Dominican comedy, it is time that we support it and hope that our filmmakers maintain that rhythm where is a win win business. I invite all of you to see Quién Manda? I can promise you that you won't regret.

Greetings friends readers, Dominicans have raced with bad luck as far as rulers is concerned, a series of dictators, a few more pimps than others. Rafael L.Trujillo was that most lasted in power, did blood and fire during 31 years of abuse and terror.
Dominicans films has touched the subject of the dictatorship of Trujillo on several occasions, in all, it came out badly to stop the production. The dictatorship of Trujillo, is now again but the dictator becomes a secondary character, the film focuses on the Lieutenant Amado García Guerrero, one of the executioners of the dictator. We'll see how it turns to be a loyal soldier to a conspirator who aspires to change our destiny.
I liked the performances, Amaury Nolasco does it well, is credible as a military, fits almost perfect in the assigned role. The side I liked, except for Antonio Jaramillo, Mexican actor that not never emerges from his accent and hear it saying ¨pendejo¨ to take us to the flea hop. The atmosphere is good, feel really be at the time, dress alike. Limardo directing is average, there are details that escape him, as it is the case of the car where killed Trujillo, going in a scene that car has deteriorated inside, and the Dominicans that had read about Chapita, knows the perfectionist who was, and was not going to jump on a limousine in deplorable conditions.
The script is good, while there are several bugs which we cannot ignore, I would like to see another film written by Huchi Lora, soon made his debut on the right foot. Photography is the best thing that has the movie, we note that there is a team of professionals behind the camera.
If you want to see a good Dominican movie, in the Lieutenant Amado have a good choice, it is our film, we will support our cinema, cinema that supports those who pay for a ticket and we hope a good result. I'm satisfied with The Lieutenant Amado, it is a film that is worth supporting and will support it.
