That's My Jam (2022)
Well I like it...
Not really sure what all the hate is about to be honest. It's Saturday night entertainment and it entertains. Lots of fun rounds, music and a bit of comedy, better than a lot of other things on telly at the moment. Me and the wife are enjoying it anyway, good family entertainment on a Saturday night.
Maybe some people are affected by the fact this is a British version of a US show. Being from the UK myself I would obviously much rather watch this than the US one, I haven't seen the original but I can imagine how much more cringey and false everyone would seem.
Personally I don't think it deserves the hate, I was actually quite surprised by the lack of good reviews.
Jackass 4.5 (2022)
Better than the film in my opinion...
I wasn't a fan of the theatrical release of jackass forever, I didn't really like the stunts etc and wasn't overly keen on the newbies. I thought this was quite entertaining and enjoyed it more than the actual film.
A Violent Man (2021)
How is this not good people?
Its a prison drama with good acting and not replying on beating after beating to make entertainment. It's obviously low budget but well done Ross for making this, it doesn't always have to be a massive budget to make something decent and you've proved that mate 👍
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition (2021)
Well I like it anyway...
I think people are too picky. It's a remastered game from years ago while still keeping that nostalgic feeling of the originals. Can't complain, I'm happy. Get a grip people.
The Outlaws (2021)
So far so good
Only seen the first episode but it has good character development and seems like it'll be quite amusing as well as keeping you on the edge of your seat.
Offender (2012)
Good prison film.... would be better without English Frank
Very enjoyable well made film however English Frank is not good. Proper crap actor, not a much better rapper to be honest.
Rise of the Footsoldier: Origins (2021)
Great installment. Naughty stuff
As always with ROTFS, great British gangster flick. Always a giggle with some brutal violence and comical foul mouthed script. Keep 'em coming I say.
Villain (2020)
Proper decent UK film. Deserves better rating.
Very good film, thoroughly enjoyed it. We do make a lot of crappy films but occasionally we get a little gem and this is one of them. Need more like this.
Avengement (2019)
Brilliant UK film with decent violence!
Definitely up there in my top 10. Great stuff, adrenaline pumping. Proper man film to enjoy with a few beers.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021)
Why change directors?? It doesn't work!
The first two films that James Wan directed were brilliant. Such an eerie atmosphere in both and they kept you on the edge of your seat wandering what's going to happen next. They make you feel like you're almost going through it too.
Changing directors in my opinion doesn't work, it's like you can tell straight away that something is different. James Wan is needed to capture the same feelings and atmosphere that the previous two created. I had high hopes but knew before I'd seen it that it wouldn't be the same and I was right. It feels quite cheesy and cheap, extremely over exaggerated and very disappointing.
It made me roll my eyes more than anything rather than the feeling I was hoping for where you are genuinely on edge watching it and excited for what's to come. If Wan directed this I know it would have been 10 times better. Changing directors is a bad idea, I don't understand why directors don't return to direct if they're involved in the writing and producing etc. It's like James Cameron being involved in the latest Terminator returning to write and produce but not direct. And surprise surprise it wasn't the same and failed to create the feelings and atmosphere that the first two he directed did. Same story here with The Conjuring 3. And the same for James Wan's Insidious, 1 and 2 were very good, changed directors for the others and they were crap.
Sorry James Wan, I love ya but I don't love this film. Please return to direct an amazing horror movie.
Blue Story (2019)
Not bad, trying to be Ill Manors though
Not a bad film but the Rapman narrative throughout is a bit of a Ill Manors rip off. Ill manors did it better.
The Degenerates: Big Jay Oakerson (2018)
Usually not a fan of American stand up...but
Usually I'm not a fan of American stand up but this was hilarious. Literally had me crying with laughter! He has a very funny way with words. Highly recommended!
After Life (2019)
No need for a second season.
Really enjoyed the first season. Second season however was dull. The depressing bits were too depressing, the comedy was nowhere near the same level as the first series, felt quite forced and unrealistic. The woman with the plastic surgery and the bloke dressed as a little girl were both stupid. I actually laughed the most at the psychiatrist, everyone else seems to hate him but depends on your sense of humour I suppose.
Coffee & Kareem (2020)
Really not that bad...
It's not the best of films but it's certainly not the worst. Kept me entertained and not at all boring. Slightly cheesy but it is an action comedy. An easy watch.
Bad Boys for Life (2020)
Awful
Proper crap. Don't get the hate from the last two and don't get the love for this one. Really over done it with the "Bad boys for life" all the way through. Cheesy acting. Bad comedy. Pretty much pathetic.
The Stranger (2020)
Good but...
I really like the show but for me the little fat ruins it. Also the so called effects of PCP. Other than that thumbs up.
6 Underground (2019)
Have people never seen a Bay movie!
It's a Michael Bay film so you should roughly know what to expect. Lots of action and a massive production. The story isn't that bad, just take it for what it is. Most Hollywood movies are farfetched. Considering it's a Netflix original I'd say well done.
Ladhood (2019)
Really enjoyed it..
I stumbled across this on iPlayer not knowing what it was and was pleasantly surprised. Not only is it funny but it's also quite gritty, particularly when he's reflecting on his younger days. The acting is good and doesn't have a cheesy comedy feel to it. I can relate to a lot of stuff in this and it would be good to get a second series.
Rise of the Footsoldier 4: Marbella (2019)
Fictional Pat Tate but enjoyed the film.
Obviously the first one will always be the best. Let's not forget that the first two were based on facts from Carlton Leach's involvement with Pat Tate etc. Now it seems as if Pat Tate is a fictional character. In the third and fourth installment there are very small elements that resemble something he may have done but they are both so very far from the truth, almost a complete work of fiction. However if you switch off from the fact that this is supposed to be a real person based on facts and take it as just a UK gangster film, I don't think it's too bad. It's actually quite funny in places too and certainly not a boring film by any means.
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Better than all the other sequels after T2
T1 and T2 will always be the best ones. All the sequels before this one are crap and struggle to capture that terminator feeling. This one, I think, did a much better job of giving us that terminator vibe. I just wish James Cameron directed the film... In my opinion that would be the best way of getting the true terminator experience we are craving for.
Dagenham (2018)
Not terrible
It's not great but not terrible. I think with a bit more of a budget it might have been better. For a very low budget film it's not too bad. And the acting isn't too bad either. Need to be in to your UK films to enjoy it.
The Virtues (2019)
Shane Meadows is back again.
Love the realism, love the grittiness, love the acting, love the story and love the directing. Interested to see how it evolves. Well done Shane Meadows, love you always. Brilliant work as always.
David Brent: Life on the Road (2016)
He's back...at last!
He's back at last, absolutely love the office as well as Ricky Gervais so I was really happy about him returning as David Brent. David Brent is a brilliant character and the king of cringe has nailed it again. Sometimes when a TV show turns into a movie it can be a bit disappointing, however that wasn't the case with this one it had me laughing from start to finish and would definitely watch it again. Many laugh out loud moments, as well as some very cringey ones. Anyone who is a fan of the office and David Brent should see this. I have been waiting for this to hit the screens and it was worth the wait. Very funny, as well as heartwarming, highly recommend!
