Megalopolis (2024)
The Perfect Swan Song
Thank you Francis. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You have no idea how much this film means to me. This is everything, it says everything. Beautiful and visionary, worth every penny spent. It's refreshing to see art still alive and well, creating dialogues about the future. In ten or twenty years people will come around and realize what Megalopolis really is. My jaw was dropped the entire film, I laughed and cried, it was pure electricity on the screen. I'm glad it flopped, I'm glad you all think it sucks, and I'm sure Francis is glad to. If you sit down and set aside your preconceived notions of movie watching, Megalopolis is a film that could change your life.
Children of the Pines (2023)
A Chilling Exploration of Self Improvement
Joshua Morgan and his team have crafted a unique cinematic experience. This is not your typical Thriller or Horror, instead be prepared for a dramatic dive into a psychological terror and a story that keeps you guessing.
The characters are very well written and performed in a way that keeps you sucked in. The actors are delivering the story on multiple levels, saying one thing with their mouths and something totally different with their eyes. Even in more upbeat scenes, they hold a sinister tone that keeps you constantly uneasy.
The other highlights are beautiful cinematography, expert direction, and great pacing that all comes together to create an excellent cinematic experience sure to delight. It delves deep into concepts that will leave you thinking about the film for days after and begs for repeat viewing.
Children of the Pines is definitely worth the watch. It's an incredible stylish study on the darkness within each one of us. I can't recommend the film enough!
Everwinter Night (2023)
Fun & Frightening!
Everwinter Night is a fantastic call back to classic comedy horrors such as the Evil Dead without being a carbon copy. It hits all the right points with plenty of twists to keep you guessing! It's stylish, keeps a great pace throughout, and gets even better on a second viewing when you know what's to come. The cast is phenomenal, they create a group of interesting characters that really bring the film to life. The performances elevate Everwinter Night beyond just a horror comedy to become a drama that sucks you in. I can't recommend this film enough. Worth the watch, the rewatch, and the annual Halloween watch. If you're looking for a fun film that gives you laughs, drama, thrills and blood spills: Watch this movie.
What Happened to Suzy (2024)
Excellent Film!
I had the pleasure of seeing What Happened to Suzy at the Central Florida Film Festival and really enjoyed the movie! The casting was superb with excellent performances and clear direction from James Ersted. Dylan Nunez was great as the lead actor in a role that most would overact, he kept things believable and grounded. Paul Parducci does an excellent job as well, eating up the screen while remaining off screen for most of the film. The writing was engaging with a plot that keeps you hooked as it twists and turns, and the runtime moves quickly with great pacing and editing. It's definitely worth the watch!
