Turned this on with a fair amount of interest and promise, I suspect like many others I re-watched the original the night before, it was as cheesy as I remember. I was however, quite quickly disappointed, the CGI fighting was very unsettling and ruined the otherwise glossy feel. The casting seemed very strange, McGregor's character displayed strong "Dude" vibes from 'Free Guy' and we didn't really get to spend much time getting to know any other character. Dialogue was very surface level, which hindered the character development. Overall this seemed unnecessary, really no need to "remake" this film, one or two slight changes and they could've distanced themselves from the original and created what is becoming a Hollywood rarity... an original film.
