Should you treat your parents the same in their last years as they treated you in your first?
Goldfish is the story of the troubled relationship between a daughter and her mother.
The mother is played by the evergreen and my favourite, deepti naval. And the daughter is played by the versatile, kalki koechlin.
The mother is suffering from dementia, she is slowly forgetting things, words, places, people, and how badly she treated her daughter growing up.
Among all this, after the death of her husband, she has found love again, and she loves him so much that she has willed her home to her love instead of her daughter!
The film is also the story of living in a good neighbourhood and having loving neighbours who take care of each other.
There's even a scene set in the bathroom, where the whole neighbourhood got together to help the character of deepti naval.
What i liked the most in the movie was its cinematography, which was done by the director, pushan kripalani.
The pacing and the screenplay in the film could have been done better.
Overall the movie was good and the end left you with a question which i asked in the beginning.
Watched this with the director, producer, writers, and star cast: deepti naval, kalki koechlin, and rajit kapoor at the india habitat centre, delhi.

Nostalgia sells.
This is the first thing that came to my mind after seeing that all shows at my theatre and most of the nearby theatres are houseful.
And it's true for the film also, because director Anil Sharma & writer Shaktimaan has sold us nothing but nostalgia for the original 2001 blockbuster film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.
Gadar 2 is a big, 80 crore worth, promotion for the director's son, Utkarsh Sharma. The entire first half is dedicated to Utkarsh, who is playing the role of Tara Singh's(Sunny Deol) son, Jeete. I can confidently say that in the entire 170 minutes runtime of the film, Utkarsh has more screen time than the lead Sunny Deol!
The story of Gadar 2 is shoddy & stupid, it is not even worth explaining here. The original songs are hastily made, and the others are remakes of the original songs in Gadar 1 which are badly made.
The acting by the actors is atrocious, only Sunny Deol manages to do some good acting in the entire movie.
During the re-release of the original 2001 film recently, I liked the movie so much that I watched it two times in the theatre. But I would not watch Gadar 2 again even if it is airing on TV.
If you really want to watch it, I would suggest you watch the original Gadar: Ek Prem Katha again and forget that Gadar 2 even exists.
