Glad to see that the upcoming Sicario2 leaves the annoyingly whining goody two-shoes character played by Emily Blunt out of it. The powerful screen presences of Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin were weakened by the attempt to make her the main feature of the story, and she was just not up to it, playing such a namby pamby FBI prude with her green, obtuse sidekick, made worse by trying to make her look all tough yet sentimental. Other than that the movie has an intense plot and a riveting screenplay, showing who the real border czars are. Looking forward to Sicario 2 without the baggage dragging down the storyline with characters not "all in" the battle on the border.
A sweet ghost story that slows down the pace and provides a touching theme of cherishing memories while still living in the present to the fullest. The acting and direction managed to evoke strong emotional responses which may be unexpected by viewers who thought they were hardened against sentimentality. Not for those looking for fast paced thrills. Almost gave up on it thinking it was dull but glad to stick with it for a good cry. The sci-fi time period disparity was handled quite nicely and the entire story was rendered very tastefully. It was a pleasure to be entertained without hearing the Lord's name used in vain or seeing anybody get shot or stabbed. A family film that provides a recreational retreat experience from which you come out refreshed and entertained. Its a good thing that such a selection is still available in the movie database.
Exquisite acting all around with each individual character developed to perfection. Not a single member of the cast failed to deliver a consistently perfect performance of their character throughout the episodes. Amazing writing with sharp dialog bringing fantasy entertainment with supernatural special effects and plenty of hilarity, all in the midst of a plethora of jolly gaiety contrasted with brutal violence and gore. The series pulls you in to binge watch and if you do you're liable to be humored, confused, offended, amazed, indulged, stimulated, challenged, gratified and in all that cathartically entertained. Expect to get plenty of belly laughs, eye rolls and jaw drops. Happiest ending ever after.
