Let me start by saying the cast are brilliant, perfectly cast, extremely well acted and totally believable to a man, woman or any other gender we care to pitch in. I'd watch this film over and over again just for the fun of watching actors mastering their craft.
OK the plots a bit washy and telegraphed and the ending has wholes in it bigger than my 30 year old underpants but let that not spoil the beauty of this film I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Not a lot happens in the film for one that's 2 hours long, but surprisingly you'd never know as it hooks you and reels you in. The characters are a wonderful mix of parodies but you just don't care as they're totally believable in the moment and the film makes them feel just right.
Don't expect a "promising young woman" expect a calculating young man that will want you asking questions at the end as to why Emerald Fennell left huge unanswered holes in the plot.

I kid you not, if it wasn't for the most believable performance from the most unlikeliest of people this film would have been a car crash, not a spectacular super car bone crunching crash but a slow, mild fender bender of one. Penelope Cruz I take my hat off to you!
Cruz's performance rescues this limp, flat tyred vehicle of a film. Don't get me wrong, the film is watchable, it's historically interesting, it's well shot, great wardrobe department, a period piece love affair with cobbled stone streets, flamboyant Italian shade wearing lothario's, but it's stuck between which story it should tell and because of that it slowly nudges bumper to bumper with the minimalist of any sort of impact and its a real shame because Cruz's performance deserved a much better platform.
It really is two stories in one and both don't get the respect they deserve, the film should have been soley on the dysfunctional ferrari family and Enzo's lack of managing his pants or his car firm. Then a second film on the race, its aftermath and the lies/rises of the brand should have been a follow up.
So would I watch it again, probably but just to marvel over Penelope Cruz scene stealing at every opportunity and that sound track of the roaring of the cars blurring past the screen.

Oh, dear! Just like the cast probably did, I went in to this film with such high hopes. I presumed this film would be a great watch, a career defining moment for all those involved, a Zack Snyder film to be in ore of, alas it is anything but.
To be honest I wished I'd cashed out of this film after just five minutes, and by the looks of the acting chops of the cast...they actually did that themselves. From the opening shot the film had lost me, I was expecting a visual spectacular, only to be met with obvious set extensions and poor acting. With the emotional empathy of a charging rhino the cast ground the scatter gun nonsensical plot into the interstellar earth and they didnt give a monkeys by all accounts.
Bad cut after bad cut of ropey CGI, obvious set extensions and ScFi with zero heart or intent of the likes not seen for a decade and more grinds out before your eyes in a soul crushing realisation that the film just continues to slowly burn out after peeking with the opening credits, I was stunned...this is a Zack Synder film isn't it or was it Sack Zynder? And all that's not helped by a plot which is thinner than a bald man's hairline, it really is poor.
To cap it off it's part 1, oh god prey tell there's not going to be more made, not like this...please no!
I'll save you the trouble of wasting 2 hours of your time. Thrown a pot of paint at the wall, pull up a chair, sit back and watch it dry forv2 hours, I'll tell you for nothing, it'll be far more interesting than watching this film.
