  • Just don't take it too seriously

I saw this movie for Nathan Fillon, which made me be his fan after Firefly and Serenity. Well, tho be honest, i didn't expect much and i didn't get much either. It one of those classic sci-fi movies from the end of the 80' and beginning of 90' where a nasty beast comes from outer space, infects a earth being and starts spreading around. Usually it all looks very disgusting...

The good thing in this movie is, that it doesn't take all situation too seriously and looks like a parody on it self. Especially Nathan's humor makes it worth watching even though it is not some kind of premium cinema masterpiece. TV stations will probably roll it when there is nothing better to show...

Take it as an easy parody and you'll get a few good laughs.

  • Good, but Jeff is too much like the guy from Terms of Endearment

Somehow i didn't like this movie very much. Sigourney Weaver acts really good, the kids are doing good job as well. But the story and the act of Jeff Daniels make the movie look like Terms of Endearment II. He acts exactly the same way and that makes the new character look exactly like the previous one. You even have identical hospital scene when the wife is expecting some cancer-test results... After realizing that fact, i lost the whole interest in the movie.

The story that the boy (as main character) has to deal with was quite good, though. That's why i will give this movie a 6 instead of 5 or 4. This is a kind of movie some drama lovers might charish, but the rest of you will soon forget.

  • It's quite good for a low budget movie

I didn't know anything before watching the movie, but at the end i was quite pleasantly surprised how the story works well...

The movie is about a couple; he is an artist, she pays the bills by working in a coffee shop. The evening before he starts a new job in a tire shop, he goes to clean the laundry to the public laundry shop. There he meets an attractive girl who is on the loose with her baby that she should have gotten away (she was only payed for her egg and birth). Now he joins her run, while his wife is following the cop that is chasing them...

The main actors Marisa Coughlan and Samuel Ball are doing a good job in this movie. The screenplay is quite well written for them, and it would be really nice movie if the writers and director would have payed some more attention to the supporting roles, that are too shallow and one-dimensional.

Lead characters are trying to develop some deeper conversation for at least 2 times in the movie... it really bothered me, that they didn't. It would make a lot better movie. (What were the writers afraid of?). That is in my opinion 2nd mistake in the script.

To conclude; it's a move with a script that somehow works, but you wont need to make new place on your wall for a poster :).
