Obviously an extremely important case and the first episode is quite good showing us how it all started, the panic, and some operational work even if shallow. I think the remaining 2 episodes are quite weak and dull. Are there supposed to be 4? Most of it is about sons whining about their mom working too much trying to find the poison in town. What does she actually do? We see her stare at police workers most of the time. There are also quite a few meetings where she mainly listens to experts or tells people they have to take it seriously. One wonders why she's so busy she doesn't have time to get home much at all? It seems like pure fiction. What is she supposed to do when everyone goes home? She's not even doing anything in the few work scenes we see.
The issue is that the last 2 episodes are about nothing. And when it pertains to the case itself they at times show us a short scene and move onto family matters and crying. And all this crying feels extremely fake so rather than cry with them I cringe at them.
It's not bad nor good. It just feels pointless as it should have shown way more. A 1 hour documentary will tell you twice as much as these episodes combined. I do think the intercut with the real life shots is strong. It feels a tad higher budget than it is when we see the real city. But overall I don't understand what is going on here and we get very few details.
