Cainneach “Kenji� Mac Eoin (Director of Photography, Producer and PP Supervisor)
Dubliner, Cainneach 'Kenji' Mac Eoin took his first photo at three years of age when he insisted on using his father's camera. In 1988 he won his first photography award, igniting his life's passion. Two years later his family emigrated to Perth, where he completed the tertiary level, Diploma of Applied Science (Photography). His 20 plus year career includes press, events, portraiture and several of his own exhibitions.
2006 Stop Motion Animation Ransis and Alee marked Cainneach's transition to film. Other work includes The Catalpa Escape (Dir: Mark Day), The Devil's Interval (Dir: Turner Brothers), Out There (Dir: Randal Plunkett), Edgar Allan Poe's “The Raven� (Dir: Damian Byrne) “Alice� The Pauline Berwick story (Dir: Ronan O' Leary), O' Daddy Dear (Dir Ray Lamb) Seanchai (Dir: Alan Dunne and Eamonn Tutty) and Mattress Men (Dir: Colm Quinn) which won the George Morrison Feature Documentary IFTA in 2016.
Recent training includes Kerrry ETB Dawn Workshops Cinematography Master classes with Steve Fierberg (Camera)and Mo Flam (Gaffer) and Cinematography Master class with PJ Dillon in 2016 as well as talks with Seamus Mc Garvey.
His cinematographic heroes are Seamus McGarvey, Janusz Kaminski and Sean Bobbitt.
For almost a decade he thought the Bodhran at Comhaltas Perth, competed in the 2004 All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil and run Bodhran workshops in major festivals including Nannup Music festival. He has played on stage with legends such as Junior Davey, Colum Sands and the Chieftains.
