It's been a while since something so spine chilling has graced the small screen. If you loved the first series of AHS, this show will fill the hole that you've been missing since then. Its been a while since I've seen a show with such in depth character building. Each episode is a piece of art that's slowly congealed into a fine back story. Don't expect gore or vomiting demons, but expect an amazingly filmed ghost story that will give you the chills, guaranteed.
Why, why, why....what is the point of this low budget, low acting, low story line piece of rubbish. Surely Stephen King has no link to this tripe except the original book. If he does, its a sad day for the fans of King. Like many, I've tried to give it a go, watching the first 3 episodes...will I watch the 4th, probably..but the fact I fell asleep watching episode 3, the futures not bright for this series in my life. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, it was good, but if you're expecting something similar..just don't even think it's on par because it's not even close. The acting is so D grade...sorry guys, probably not their fault but it's very hard to compliment ANY of them as the story has more holes than a piece of Swiss cheese...for some reason I don't think this will get a second season, to be honest, through the fog, I can't even see it making it to the proposed last episode of season 1.
It may seem a little bit of a copycat movie version of a certain TV series that others have mentioned in previous reviews, and yes, the theory is similar and that's where it really works. Viewers love the outdoor reality shows on TV these days and this movie takes the survival reality, to the next level. I can't say much about the plot but it will play out a little bit "obviously" throughout the movie, but don't let that turn you off, it has plenty of mystery and intrigue to keep the viewer switched on... just enjoy, as its a pretty entertaining movie..Chris Diamantopoulos was excellent in the role and upon doing a bit more research on him, as I hadn't heard of him before, I was surprised to find he hasn't had many lead character movie roles at all...a pity as would like to see him cast in a few more movies.
