Teacher (2019)
Just when I thought I'd seen all the stories movies have to offer
I loved this movie. The acting and production were well done. Most of all though I liked the story. Bullies are a problem no one ever wants to address. The cornered in feeling when another person puts you in an invisible prison. What to do? What can you do? We need more movies like this to open this window of possibilities. This movie observes the cycle of abuse which gives it layers. This movie does not shy away from the darkness bullying abides in, but it gives you light too. Over idealistic perhaps, but there needs to be better options for our dreams to pull from. Thank you guys. I was feeling it.

Loved it!
I absolutely loved this movie. I was jumping out of my chair so many times with my heart racing. Granted one of my favorite movies is The Collector so it kind of makes sense. Josh Stewart was great as always. A surprise came with Bill Engvall. I knew the guy was funny, but he can also act, and he does a wonderful job in this as the creepy hillbilly. I just can't praise this movie enough. It was raw and terrifying. This is what I want out of a horror movie. Unfortunately I had never heard of it before until a review on Bloodbath and Beyond. Out of all the crap that comes out, this should have got more attention. I am so happy that I watched this and would recommend it to anyone. Wonderful, absolutely wonderful. Don't now if this is a spoiler or not but the only reason I didn't give it a 10 was because Bill should have realized the music downstairs had turned off. Other than that I thought it was perfect. Thank you guys for delivering a top notch horror movie.

Wow, this movie really caught me by surprise. I remember watching the preview and thinking "whatever". I couldn't really tell what it was about but I saw that Joel Kinnaman was in it so I had to at least see. My first experience with this guy was on "The Killing." Didn't like him or his character at first, but by the end of the series I got it. I remember rooting for him to make it big and then saw him on Robocop and some other big movies. I hope Hollywood doesn't ruin him. I'd like to see more of his "flawed hero" in the future. Could just be me, but I think I could see him doubting himself in certain scenes at the beginning of the movie that wasn't just the character. He needs more roles like these I think to get his chops around. Really, I think he has the potential to turn out some interesting characters given the chance. Now about the movie. Like I said, the beginning of the movie, I thought, came across a bit stiff. Maybe the dialogue, I don't know, people in real life act and say things all the time that I don't really understand why they'd say or do it that way. All the same it was okay. Then about half way through the movie I had to stand up and say, "Holy S--t!" From then on it was a nightmare for everyone involved. This movie took turns I did not see coming and I thought it was pretty realistic. Once it all fell apart I could see the insanity of the situation and it was scary. I've always been interested in how a parent can come to the conclusion to kill their own children. That doesn't happen here but the colors are there. I don't know if this movie is for everyone, probably not. I sure liked it though. I liked it a lot.

Loved it
I am a horror fan but have been disappointed lately with all the retold stories out there. When I saw this movie on redbox I checked IMD and read the first review. When I read demon girl from VHS I was sold. I really enjoyed that episode so I headed off to the box and I am glad I did. Really I think this is a prequel to the VHS story. I thought the acting was good and special effects. I like how it brought out a sense of endless nightmare, like those dreams you can't wake up from. These folks have stepped in it and there's no going home for you Dorothy. But seriously, I would recommend this movie to anyone, horror buff or not. Good times to the end.
Blood Father (2016)
Thank you Mel
I know there are tons of good reviews already for this film, but I'd like to add my support. I don't care what he does with his private life, I miss the good old days of watching Mel play a bad ass. This movie is a great example of just that. He plays the kind of hero I always root for. I've enjoyed all the stuff he's done even after the Hollywood scandal. Who hasn't gotten drunk and said some things they probably shouldn't have. I do wish him well though, keeping it together and all. I hope he continues to act as well as direct movies. The things he has directed I thought were really great as well. He is definitely not too old for this s--t.

Rob Lowe might be winning me over
I have to admit I never liked Rob Lowe. I mean he is too pretty to be a guy that I would root for and he always seemed pretentious. Somehow, now he has made those very qualities work for him. Reminds me of Alec Baldwin from 30 Rock and makes me wonder if they stole the idea from that. I'm only into the first six episodes but I'm finding it hilarious. Also Fred Savage is great. Always liked him since I was a kid. I think together these two make a great team. It has been a while since I found anything like this to be really funny. Mostly the jokes are just a repeat from other past TV shows. So this show also gets points for originality. Funny and original. Since when, right? Lastly, I think Rob Lowe might be winning me over. There was another movie, "Melt With Me" or something like that, I've been avoiding just because he is in it. I'll have to go back and give it a chance now. I strongly recommend this show to anyone who needs a good laugh. The only reason I give it an eight instead of a 9 or 10 is just because the humor is PG, but that's no ones fault. Falls on me more for having a dirty mind.
