This could have been quite a good straight movie. The documentary inserts were completely unnecessary.
It is still good, but lost some of the enjoyment factor for the interruptions of the battles by historians speaking in a library.

It is not a zombie series, but a pandemic one. There is nothing supernatural in season one.
It's a bit like Jericho / The Walking Dead, borrowing the musical style of 28 Days Later. But set in Russia, with the paramilitary and ... other country as the antagonists.
The acting is good. There is maybe a bit too much "flesh" to gain audience, but as I guy I will not complain about it.
The landscapes and the cinematography are beautiful, and shows some glimpses into Russian culture and social issues.
PS: I watched it in the original language with subtitles. Who complains about the dubbing? You should never use it!

It is a interesting story, that has a couple of needles final 2 chapters where the story becomes a bit of a caricature.
