QI (2003)
S21 Uncle Sam
I love this show. Been watching it since I was in the UK in 2005 then after I found it on YouTube in 2009. I love the facts, I love the humor, I especially love the episodes with Gyles Brandreth. I always get a kick out of the Americans that come on the show. There is however one episode that is just plain awful. The S21 Uncle Sam episode is literally the absolute worst in the history of the series. Kameh Bob and Alex Edelman did not seem to get it is supposed to be funny. Kameh seemed to be doing a bit the whole time as a moron (not talking about her voice that is awful but not her fault), and Alex just came across as a jerk. David Mitchell very obviously did not like them and no one but Alan looked like they were having fun and even he looked uncomfortable.
Now my rating is based overall I'm not down marking the series over 1 episode out of 306.
305 episode are amazing and hilarious. The hell with the Uncle Sam episode. I really hope it hurts the careers of Kameh and Alex.
Madame Web (2024)
I do not understand the hate.
I honestly don't get the hate on this movie. It's not a superhero movie. It's about 4 people before they become the heroes they're destined to be. I wouldn't even call it an origin story for anyone other than Webb. This is basically the spider-verse version of Pennyworth except not as boring. This goes into the how's and why's that the spider people exist and lays out the mythos at the base of the spider-verse. And for those saying it's not canon... Marvel, Disney, and Sony say it is, soooo it is canon whether or not you like it. So basically this is a really good movie that isn't meant to be a superhero movie. Does it have some issues yes but there's no such thing as a perfect movie. Honestly the only thing that ticked me off was them walking away from the campfire without putting it out.
Halloween Ends (2022)
What movie did everyone else watch?
I'm reading these reviews and I'm stumped. For those saying Michael Meyers isn't in it at all, you're right the actor Michael Meyers isn't in this movie. The character though is in almost the entire thing. Throughout the movie there's a theme of is Michael a creation of his surroundings or was he born that way. I think Corey is a great way to explore that. Showing Corey as a promising bright kid who's life completely changes after 1 accident. Who because of how he's treated by the town, becomes exactly what they say he is. I thought this was the perfect ending to the franchise this brought it back to a slasher thriller and not just a gore for gores sake series. I will admit though the final scene with Michael Meyers wasn't necessary lol.
This Game's Called Murder (2021)
Wow what a horrible movie. Avoid at all costs.
I got to see this for free and I still feel ripped off. I think they tried to go for a repo genetic opera vibe without the music. They failed, horribly. It was extremely painful to watch. No one even tried to act in this, the effects were sub par early 90s troma-ish at best, with so many attempts to be edgy that this felt like a soft core porn without the sex and nudity. This movie would have actually been better with unnecessary sex and nudity. I have no idea what the plot is about. There's about 8 or 9 plots that never actually take hold. It's just a mess.
Blood & Treasure (2019)
Modern day Indiana Jones
I understand why some people would not like this show. I grew up watching Indiana Jones and reading the old adventure pulps that the Jones movies and shows like the Librarians were based on. This is a perfect modernization of those pulps. The hero hopping all over the globe tracking nazis and searching for lost treasure. Secret organizations that are both good and bad. A down to earth catholic priest that is both the comedy relief and the spiritual advisor with the perfect advice for everyone. The rogues gallery of small time villains with hearts of gold... I could go on and on.
As for the acting outside of the main hero character it's all top notch. The main actor though, Matt Barr is a little dry and sometimes you can tell he's not acting just reading his lines. However for this character it totally works. (Then again if it works maybe he is acting)
Anyway give it a shot. If you are a fan of pulp novels like the phantom, the shadow, the purple scar, or the reckless novels. Well you are going to love this series.
Ultraviolet (2006)
visually beautiful and yet still awful
I went to see this last night with a friend and was disappointed to say the least. the Movie was Graphically beautiful the cgi and city setting were amazing the acting was great BUT it was like they were halfway through writing it and said "well i have nothing" and you know when that happened at the point where the dialog makes no sense Garth says "Why don't you let anyone in....." and violets response is "Because Beautiful moments like these, as good as they are, are evil when they are gone." (it had all of the audience laughing). this is when you know they had writers block and started watching soaps.
I will say that Daredevil was a better movie than Ultraviolet. Normally i wouldn't be able to bring myself to insult anything that much, no matter how bad the movie was. so from now on the ultimate insult to a movie is going to be i would rather sit through a 12 hour marathon of ultraviolet. the only thing that got me through the movie was the fact that it was so bad it was like watching a train wreck you just cant look away. the dialog was a bad mix of Dark Angel and Dark Shadows it was hysterical because you knew they were serious when writing it.
i am not kidding when i say that the people who work in the theater instead of saying hope you enjoyed the movie said refunds are available downstairs
this movie is not even a rent it.
this movie is a bury it in your Netflicks account.
so if it shows up watch it so you will know how bad it is for yourself. but please don't go out of your way to see it!!!!!!
