This was one of the best episodes of TWD ever, if not THE best. Superbly directed by Greg Nicotero and brilliantly acted. The use of silence when Connie is exploring the house, punctuated by sudden sound, is very effective. Creepy as hell.
I like a good Musical, and I loved this. A well-done Musical should use songs to tell and enhance the story and that's achieved in this episode. The cause of it is something I won't spoil, but it's a good one.
Saw this described as Blithe Spirit meets Evil Dead. While not as witty as Noel Coward or as gory as ED, it's still entertaining enough. Cinematography (black and white) and music are faithful to the 1930's and the cast are suitably camp.
