Mickey 17 is such a wasted opportunity and for me the first big disappointment of 2025. It's 140' of nothing! A movie that constantly talks but doesn't actually say anything of value. It just has all these big ideas that end up nowhere and at times its only saving grace is some moments of levity that are really funny.

It's a science fiction movie that never explores its themes. What does it say about cloning? About colonization? It touches these subjects, sure, but it's so shallow.

Robert Pattinson is fine but I think he's wasted in this. All the different versions of Mickey are also supposed to have different personalities but aside from 17 and 18 (as seen in the trailer) the previous 16 all act the same, even though the movie says that have different characteristics. But even that doesn't matter because we never get to see all the different Mickeys aside from a quick montage.

Also, let me say that the use of narration in this movie is egregious. It doesn't enhance the experience, it's just filler to cover the silence.

Finally, it's so boring! Boring visuals, boring sci-fi elements, boring creature designs, no unique aesthetic, no nothing.

Even though I had a terrible theater experience, with obnoxious people talking, eating, and flashing their phones every 20' because they were bored, Nosferatu is an excellent movie and offers something new and unique that separates itself from previous adaptations. Unfortunately, it's one of those movies that has a lot internet chatter and morons everywhere will flock to see it and then complain and annoy the rest of us.

Eggers' Nosferatu is more of a possession movie that explores the repressed nature of the protagonist. Comparing it with the rest of his filmography, I'd say that this is his most accessible film and if you ask me, I'd say that I prefer The Witch, The Lighthouse and The Northman more, since I think that he took more risks in these movies - especially the first two. And even though I like the direction the movie took, I don't think that's the definitive adaptation of Nosferatu/Dracula either. Herzog's version is far superior in my eyes and of course Coppola's is also excellent.

These aren't complaints that detract from the movie, just observations. Nosferatu has great photography, great acting (especially Lily-Rose Depp gives 100%), and manages to stand on its own in the rich filmography of the Count.

I can't wait see it again alone in my house... Movie theaters suck and years now have become the worst place for cinephiles. The irony.

It's Terrifier, but now it's Christmas. That's it. Get ready for more gory scenes that should have been five minutes shorter 'cause after a while even massacres tend to be boring.

David Howard Thornton's psychical acting remains spot on, but Art as a character says nothing to me. He's funny, he's evil and that was ok for two movies, but what Art has to offer as a character from here on out?

Lauren LaVera is a treasure and brings her A-game but she had more to do in the previous movie. This just ended abruptly because we have to have a Terrifier 4.

Anyway, as I said, it's Terrifier, it's what you expect. It's fun but it overstays its welcome. I personally prefer Terrifier 2 more.
