OK no long bashing about the original been sooo much better.
It was never going to be as good, but it seems to have hate because the original is loved so much, yet this is fine.
When I say fine, I mean it kills (no pun) an evening, though its a one and done, I don't think you would come back to re-view it again.
Everything about it feels, OK...not bad and not great, just OK.
If I was to gripe about it, without cutting it to bits, my issue was it felt rushed, as soon as the cat and mouse starts it ramps up to full speed.
I think people who have not seen the original, or those not keen on Japanese cinema, will enjoy it.

I am shocked, seen too many "80s feel" horror, or so called, which are either poorly filmed or the acting is painful.
Just heard about this and thought "oh not another" but happy to say this is very good, its not going to win any Oscars for acting, the script is not Shakespeare, but what it try's to do it does well.
The practical effects for the most part are great, The Thing/Hellraiser type, on a very low budget.
Story is in realm of Hellraiser/Phantasm/Event Horizon, seen those? you will get my drift.
Its ending does leave questions, but also left me wanting to know more, and I would happily watch a second film if they stick to this way of making them, maybe a bit more money spent but keep away from CGI.
Overall I am impressed, they should be applauded for going old school and doing it well.

Well, how can you go wrong, get the same cast, have some good mystery to solve...simple...you would think.
This all started with the Xmas special, was all for the old ways style, then it put the spin on and that destroyed the whole episode.
4th season, let them off with the Xmas one, a miss, but the show will return well...nope, a very messy first episode, but I let them off with that, need her out, say the goodbye and so on.
With that out the way I did think the rest would make up for it, and in the second episode we were back on track, very enjoyable.
So I had high hopes for the last, it started well, then about a third way in it just got so bad, the constant tease of Moriarty coming back ever since end of third season, the silly plot holes, and worst of all, just writing anything no matter how stupid in hope people will like it because its Sherlock.
I would like a 5th season, if only to end the show well, as it stands, this season is like the 4th Indiana Jones movie....we all remember that one fondly.
