Deadman Wonderland (2011)
It's a decent anime
Deadman Wonderland is a anime that some might find a bit to dark and probably offensive in some ways. But this anime is really good for what its worth. I really liked the idea behind the story right from the beginning and the show did not hold back when developing the plot. What gives this anime bonus points is the violence. From a class room slaughter to decapitation, when push comes to shove this anime doesn't hold back. Also the characters are perfect in this anime and I personally thought the dubbed actors/actresses were excellent.
One problem I had is that the anime didn't feel like it was finished, the so called ending was good but so many questions were left unanswered and apparently this anime didn't do to good in Japan so its most likely this anime will end up being like "Highschool of the Dead". In other words not getting a second season.
Seto no hanayome (2007)
Absolutely Hilarious
"My Bride is a Mermaid", is an anime that I could not look away from when watching. Most of the time I was in tears from laughing too hard. This anime is in no way serious when telling its story which is fine because all the humor in the series makes up for it.
The anime also makes some good references to real world actors and movies such as the actor "Bruce Willis" and the movie "The Terminator" and the Japanese mafia(Yakuza).
But one thing that seemed to lack in this anime was the romance part. Seeing how it's assumed to be a romantic comedy, I failed to see any series moments of the romantic side of the anime, besides maybe an episode or two for brief moments.
But all in all this anime is great and could put any person in a good mood with its slapstick comedy and I would recommend this anime to be seen by everyone.
Herushingu (2001)
A Classic Anime
This anime is not your run of the mill standard anime. What "Hellsing", brings to the table is an anime with some class. The voice actors/actresses for the dubbed version are brilliant and the story is one of a kind. The battles fought are always excellent in there own ways. The only real complaint I can say is that there are at some points in the show where it feels a bit stale, but for only brief moments. In addition the sound track is also perfect for the show, from the intro to the ending.
I would highly recommend this anime to anyone and hopefully they too can enjoy the vampire anime known as "Hellsing"
Ôran kôkô hosutobu (2006)
Romantic High School Comedy
The "Ouran High School Host Club", is an anime that I never thought I would watch all the way through. But after giving it a chance and watching a few episodes I found myself laughing a lot as if I was part of the shenanigans that the characters get into. What I thought was a nice touch to the show was that at certain points a subtitle will pop up showing how the character actually feels which would be in funny situations but the other characters would be oblivious to how they really feel. I also like that every character in the host club gets an episode for themselves and an episode where the viewer learns their background and why they are there.
What made this show great was the excellent cast for the English version. From having "Vic Mignogna", who played Edward in Full Metal Alchemist to "Caitlin Glass", who played Nefertari Vivi in One Piece. There where also a lot of others to but what I'm getting at is that the voices for this anime are perfect.
The only things that I didn't care for was the romance part of the show. It just felt that it didn't really need to be there in almost every episode, I would say a few episodes had it down right. The other thing I didn't like was it was feeling a bit repetitive.
To finish this review I would recommend this anime for the laughs and not really for the romance part of the anime...7/10
High School DxD (2012)
Great Anime/Not for everyone
Okay to get it out of the way, this anime is heavy on the harem which is why I would never recommend this to anyone, this is the kind of anime that you would stumble upon on your own. But having the harem in it is what gives the anime that extra boost and should not be judged for it. A show should be judged by the story and the quality of it which is why I gave it a 9 out of 10.
That being said, this anime is freaking awesome. The story does take an episode or two to get going but once it does, it is fantastic. A story about angels, fallen angels and demons, adding into it with violence and sexual content and boom you got "Highschool DxD". Along with very likable characters like Issei who's dream is to become the "Harem King", to even Satan himself, every character has a personality that the viewer can enjoy.
Now what makes this even better is that if you do decide to watch this anime and get into it, you'll be happy to know that there is a third season being developed and if you're like me and prefer dubbed over subbed November 2014 season 2 will be released in dubbed.
In all from the two seasons that I watched I am very pleased and anxious to watch the third season when it starts and hopefully will continue after that.
Aa Megamisama (2005)
An Excellent Romance Anime
Ah! My Goddess is a one of a kind romance anime. From the two seasons that I watched I never at one point lost interest which says something about a show. That being said the story line is very basic and easy to follow and there is no real major plot twist, in fact every episode is its own story.
But having a trait like that in a show doesn't take away from it at all. Especially when every character is likable from the goddess Belldandy to the demon Mara, they each have something that makes the show so much better. Along with that the intros for season 1 & 2 fit the show perfectly
In all even if you're not into the romance, the anime is still something to check out but sadly there has been no info or rumors on a season 3 which is sad cause the show doesn't feel finished.
Ghost Hunt (2006)
Worth Checking Out
If you are into the paranormal or anime then this series is worth checking out. Up to 25 episodes, the show revolves around cases that are submitted by different characters. There are 8 cases in total with each one being better than the last "In my opinion"
The show offers a suspenseful atmosphere that makes you question what is going to happen next and being how it's on Netflix you can almost promise yourself that binge watching might occur.
Note: For a better experience I watched it when it was late at night with the lights off while wearing a headset that was turned up all the way with a bass boost...Makes the experience so much better.
