Joy of Horses (2024)
This is what's missing in the world
This movie Gives me a 80s 90s vibe of Heartfelt moments of a movie it also gives me a bit of a racing stripes 2005 vibe... I love that this movie was not a monster movie a horror movie but it was a very heartfelt family film. That truly reminiscing reminds what a good family film feels like I kinda almost feel like I forgot what that film felt like because movies aren't made like this anymore very often it is very risk to make a movie and Ava really shining this movie and kudos to Director for providing some amazing vision this really has some great characters that really sticks with you after the movie.
The Truck (2013)
The Truck
This Movie gives me a Spielberg 70's Duel vibe I think, given the budget of the film and even the timing where cameras are not as efficient as good as they are now it really still gives it a very cinematic appeal. I thought Lee Vermont did a really good job with the world building and a storytelling and it really had great photography... The acting was really decent, kudos to this fellow filmmaker for doing what he did with a very low budget but still very effective and the storytelling. You really can't tell that this is a film. I think more movies like this need to be made more often I love seeing filmmakers take this kind of risk.
Bang Bang Betty: Valerie's Revenge (2023)
Alex T Hawng is brilliant and bold
I have followed Director Alex Hwang for a good eight years and I think we always have similar journeys but seeing his movie bang bang Betty, I am really, really proud of this fellow filmmaker for making a straight up action film and doing it in a particular style that you don't really see coming from the indie genre I love how he chooses projects to set himself apart from other filmmakers, and this is something that should be studied by filmmakers to really expand and know your market and taking chances outside of horror don't give me wrong. I absolutely love horror, but this is a really really well done movie and I recommend anybody to truly give it a watch. I think this is underrated.
Neon Fear (2024)
Well done fast pace movie
This movie was so good I had to watch again shortly after watching the first time. Heavy Metal Haley and Jenn Stone are two amazing women who directed this project and was produced by yours truly Abel Berry !!! You all should give this a watch I love the grind house fast pace approach very beautiful work. I am very excited to see what these amazing ladies do next. Abel berry have a great eye for talent !!!! This felt more true to the Friday the 13th franchise then half the sequels was 😂😂😂 One of my favorite aspects of this movie is this movie felt like a true Robert Rodriguez Groundhouse if Robert Rodriguez was ever to touch on the Friday the 13th franchise !!!
The Horrorverse: Jason Voorhees: The Hunt (2024)
I'm not much of a fan of fan films but...
I would like to be the first one to tell you that I am not really a fan of the fan film genre per se but this is a very well done fan film, and it was actually better than a lot of the sequels of the fright of the 13th franchise and I think Aaron Carlson is very creative and although he wore mini hats getting this project made, he goes to show that he is very talented in multiple positions and a lot of filmmakers will have a hard time adjusting wearing that hats so the fact that he's able to do kudos the acting I thought was really well, but the editing would be my second favorite feature onto this production. Production value was really done.
The Town Without Halloween (2024)
The town without Halloween was so much fun
I was pleasantly surprised by Jacob, Innis and Gregory Brock on his project is really nice to see them do something outside of horror and gore. I really felt this was a very fun movie and my children really enjoyed it very much. Hope to see them do more outside of horror. I thought the acting was really good and the photography. The direction was top-notch as usual. I have to say this is one of my favorite projects Jacob has done since Kill Granny Kill but my favorite is still Stash !!! My favorite quality about this film is how it felt a lot like the book goosebumps it really brought back a great 80s 90s vibe.
Craving (2023)
This is a golden standard of indie film
The tone and atmosphere was absolutely incredible. Definitely top tier production value and acting and very 90's Horror.
Am I the only one that got a Tremors Vibe when watching this ??? Not that it purposely tried or anything like that but it just was so fun and you can watch any time of the year. Great job cast and crew.
This is Jason Horton at his absolutely best and I been following him for a lot of years not only is he an incredible filmmaker but he makes content on YouTube that help fellow filmmakers improve their craft. If you haven't seen this movie and you want a fun movie then watch this.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
I think people missed the landing
I think this movie went over peoples head. I think some people didn't watch Wandavision or Loki cause this was a continuation of those two shows as well as Infinity war and endgame and no way home.
