Why oh why...If you're going to cast someone who needs to speak with a posh British accent, why would you cast people who are so atrociously bad at it? I mean, Robin Wright tries to do her doodie (sorry, I mean duty), but we have to endoor (sorry, I mean endure) fairly pitiful accent attempts by all the American cast, applied to purely American phraseology. It's so terrible we were laughing our way through some of the bits that I think are meant to be dramatic. The whole thing has the feel of something dreamt up in a lunch break and finished by the end of the day. Like, surely someone could have spared 30 seconds to show Millie Bobby Brown how to hold an axe. At least Ray Winston has the good grace to go through his performance looking sheepish and embarrassed. He surely only did it for the money. The worst film I've seen so far this year by quite some margin.
A bit slow and plodding with some questionable acting and some atrocious attempts at acents. The script writing is somewhat lacking and the there's not much of a plot. By the time the titles roll at the ninety minute mark it feels like it's been half an hour too long. The characters are all a bit wooden and the actors seemed to be simply going through the motions. None of them seemed to engage with their character and I couldn't engage with them either.
Has a made for TV feel to it and I would strongly suggest it's not worth going to the cinema to see.
It's not terrible but it's not good either. If you're really bored then maybe give it a whirl.
