This film is an absolute gem-full of heart... to say the least, with a gripping story, top-notch acting, and stunning visuals... The cast of Canada's finest Indigenous actors like Adam Beach and Graham Greene totally delivers, and the dialogue feels so real.
It dives deep into heavy themes like money, brotherhood, and losing touch with culture, but balances it all with moments that'll make you laugh and cry, often at the same time.... Sanjay Patel nailed it with his direction.
Caught it at the Calgary International Film Fest this weekend, and I seriously can't recommend it enough. If you get the chance, don't miss this one-it's unforgettable!

Moonlight is one of the most stunning and emotionally stirring films I've ever experienced. Yet, many viewers have dismissed it as boring or unremarkable, missing its deeper essence. The film wasn't designed to dazzle or deliver groundbreaking revelations. Instead, it invites us to step into a life that many of us likely haven't imagined living. While we might understand aspects of poverty, queerness, masculinity, and Blackness separately, Moonlight masterfully intertwines these layers, presenting the raw, unfiltered complexity of some people's lives. It doesn't aim for a grand resolution or offer easy answers. Rather, it gives us a glimpse into a story that's rarely told-and that's what makes it both profoundly simple and heartbreakingly beautiful.
It's also crucial to recognize that just because a film doesn't fully resonate with you, it doesn't mean it lacks value. You don't need to relate to every detail to learn something meaningful. Stories that aren't often told still hold great significance. So if Moonlight left you feeling unmoved or uninterested, maybe it's worth asking yourself why.

This is by far one of the best live-action short films I've ever seen in my life. The director of the film is an engineer and a published author and because of that the story has a lot of authenticity and you will love the film. A twist at the end is beautiful and it made me cry! A MUST watch movie.
Whether or not you believe in climate change, you will love the story, emotion and intelligence of the film. The director does a great job presenting the story in a manner that it creates an emotional attachment with the main character of the movie. There are a numbers of documentaries made on this topic (Climate change) but a live action short film on Climate Change is rare and I admire the courage of film maker and everyone involved in this project. More importantly, there is a strong message in this film and that is the global warming is occurring and people are dying because of that and we can't just wait and watch and expect someone else to act.
Lastly, the director finishes the film in such a beautiful way that it will inspire people to take action. I urge you to see this film, you will not regret it.
