I saw this short film about three years ago at a small short film screening in Richmond, VA. Of all the movies, "Solitude" was by far the strongest. It's very well shot, with great use of surveillance camera footage in the earlier scenes, and very realistic looking use of the "telekinesis" effect later on. The guy who does "the voice" is perfect. While he sounds benevolent on the surface there is a creepiness to his diction that adds a lot to the film. This is a short that isn't afraid to leave a lot unanswered or up in the air. I'm sure a lot of people would interpret what this means in different ways, as the concepts that it touches on are broad and universal. Overall, the film features some great ideas, effective set design, and a good performance from the lead--a pretty strong effort all around.
