Their relationship is tested when Akari moves to another city because of her parents' jobs. Both of them struggle to keep their friendship alive, as time and distance slowly pull them apart. When Takaki finds out that he is moving further away, he decides to visit Akari one last time.
' 5 Centimeters Per Second' is an anime movie directed by Makoto Shinkai one of the most genius anime directors of all time. The story is heartbreakingly sad just like all of the Shinkai movies I have seen until now (this one was my 4th). The movie has 3 parts which are divided into 3 seasons of life, the first part when you see sakura trees and spring tells about childhood and teenage years. The summer in the second season goes with young adult years. The fall in part 3 is the symbol of loneliness in adult years. Shinkai is one of the directors who has his style which is presented in all of his movies but without making them repetitive or boring, just like #ChristopherNolan who by the way gets some of his ideas from Shinkai's works. I could have told the movie is directed by Makoto-san even without knowing it just from his storytelling method and art styles. Distance (both time distance and physical distance), loneliness, and growing up toward a mature life are his story signatures. Also if you are a Makoto fan you expect to see some elements in his works which exist in this movie too. Trains which are the element of going forward and growing up, space elements like Jets and Rockets, and a few close shots of Japanese food are just some of his footsteps in his works.
The music and soundtracks are breathtakingly beautiful just like other Shinkai movies. It's like he is so strict about music and only works with the best. 5 Centimeters Per Second is not an exception too, especially the ending song '' One more time, one more chance '' by Masayoshi Yamazaki which goes so well with the ending.
Animation and graphics are beautiful and acceptable regarding 2007 standards and only a 5 million dollar budget for the movie.
Overall, if you are a fan of drama-romance anime this is a must-watch. If you are not familiar with the anime world or Shinkai's works, I invite you to give this a try, I believe it will make you watch all of his works.
🎥⭐ 8/10.

There is an old saying " one moment of neglect leads to a lifetime of regret". Hojat (Javad Ezati) is a simple worker from a very disturbed family in Tehran's downtown. After a video is leaked from his sister in law, things go awfully wrong and leads to a tragedy.
Butterfly stroke or as it is mentioned in IMDB (drown) is the first non-documentary long movie from Mohammad Kart, a very talented young director who has done a lot of great efforts in picturing poverty and criminal history of Tehran. The story has been written really good, it has ups and downs, plot twists and a few surprises. Butterfly stroke is a movie that still has origins of Kart's documentary directing taste in it.
Casting is good and you can see some big names from Iran Cinema in it. Javad Ezati who has become the star of Iran Hits these days, shines in the leading role. Other acts are also good and above average in most of the times.
Kart's cinematography is good, it brings up the atmosphere of the film with itself and it shows how smart the director is in choosing the right angles. Music and soundtracks are good and on the beat but they are not something special to stick in your mind for a long time.
Overall, Butterfly stroke is a movie with themes that are really popular in today's cinema in Iran but it improved the idea and has some unique features. If you are a fan of real movies and you are familiar with the Iran cinema. I recommend it to you.

A group of ex-heroes now abandoned and limited by governments lives in the shadows until someone starts to eliminate them one by one. Rorschach is one of these heroes that begins searching for clues to his old colleagues' murders. The story is one of the most powerful aspects of the movie. Plot twists are good and complicated enough to make it interesting. I have watched the ultimate cut and it had another story in the story that was visualized by animation and somehow related to the main story.
The cast is another great aspect of the film. Good actors like Jeffrey Dean-Morgan, and Patrick Wilson along with a whole crew of amazing cast is expecting you.
CG, art, costume design, music, and soundtracks are quite good, especially for a movie released 13 years ago. Zack Snyder did his best in converting one of the darkest and most complex comic books into a movie by being faithful to the books. The only setback, in my opinion, is the length of the film. 3 and a half hours even for an ultimate cut is long if you cannot balance the action and dialogs. This made watchmen a little boring in some places, as I said, it's not balanced so there is maybe an hour in the middle of the movie without much going but on the other hand, you have lots of new information in the last 15 minutes.
Overall, Watchmen is a good superhero movie without regular clichés. It can be worth your while if you are into the genre. But it could get boring sometimes in the middle of it.
