So, the idea is OK, but it is a very similar development as movies like "Truth or dare"(Another mediocre one) or "Elevator game"(Taken from an urban myth that could've been so good but was also mediocre
Suffers from the same bad writing as other similar movies, takes a LOT from them, which verges on plagiarism for real(That is why I said SEMI)
The plot suffers a little bit, after the 2nd death when they realize about this, they KNOW what they are supposed to do, NOT follow what the cards say they usually do, yet they keep doing it
And then the biggest mess up of the movie, I LIKED Paxton a lot, because I am as goofy, but it would've been much better if they actually took his appearance and gave it a twist, "him" being the astrologer, that would've meant much more than the comical ending we got, and actually makes zero sense, IK it was probably just because they wanted to add his comical note, but they were ALL(After the 2nd death) in the presence of someone else when they died, so makes no sense that just because the roomie appeared coincidentally he survived.
All in all the only thing that really saves this movie is the OK acting from both Harriet and Jacob, without their OK acting this movie would've gotten a 2-3, at most.
