jerald-creer's rating
I would Rate 5 for the film is short and it had a lot of potential for more. The overall story had a message that was clear and to the point. The title says it all and the beginning of the movie tells the length of their relationship. The moral of the story to me was why to throw away all the years that have been cultivated. They could have added more potential like the conflict of couple counseling, more of Mom's conflict, more of Avery's conflict. And even the Restaurant Owner and its employee could have been added. There was so much more that could be elaborated. Now I realized it was supposed to be. A short film. It was longer than a more transitional short film. I hope there's a chance for a remake... Best of luck.
Despite what I learned, I rated this movie very high because I am rating the Director's work, screenwriting, and the motion of the movie, etc. Not because of thr content of the story. While I am a Black Man critic of the movie, it is a very sad movie to watch but it is true to the culture of racism and how White people Today. I loved how the comparison of silvery and modern time because it shows you how we live these days with the police brutally. I am beyond happy that this isn't the reality of a true story.
Well, I did my research on the movie and the Director. Gerald Bush is phenomenal. I was surprised to find out that he is a person of color and he dreamt this as a story from his ancestor telling him this story and to make it known to educate and to remind people how awful Slavery was and it's a comparison of Today's racism. It not only the comparison it's how closely is similar.
This movie has great artistry, filming is beyond unexpected, it has it's a twist that you'll never guess which why it was going. The acting was well performed. I believed everyone in the team should be recognized with the Rights of respect and awards. The plot of the story was on point with its similarities between Slavery and Morden Day.
Now to speak of the rating the was rated low because I believe it's to derive its deserving attention of the movie and its Rights to awards and recognition.
