efctj's rating
As i write the current rating here is 6.9, i should expect that to rise over the coming weeks as more and more discover this gem of a series. It is, as one would expect, a tough watch. I felt sad, sick and angry whilst viewing this. A powerful subject that has been covered many times over the years and i would say this series is up amongst the best films/series covering the holocaust. Outstanding acting from all the main characters coupled with the bleak scenery befitting the storyline, this is a 'must see' series. Be prepared to shed some tears. Be prepared to be ashamed of some of the human race, and be prepared to witness the power of love.
Exceptional series ( 5 episodes in ) Far and away the best series i have seen this year. Thought provoking and dark with superb acting by all. Ruth Wilson gives a quite stunning performance. I would highly recommend this series to prospective viewers. I am sure that come the New Year 'The Woman In The Wall' will be vying for awards on numerous fronts. Only the second time i have actually took the time to write a review here, but felt it was important to express my opinion on this gem of a series. Whilst i accept that taste in viewing is a personal thing, i am still genuinely surprised at the lower ratings on some reviews.
Have been looking forward to watching this. I was 16 in '77 and The Pistols were a major force in forming the musical tastes that i still have today. 'Pistol' was not quite what i had expected, a mixture of fact and fiction and some mis cast actors let it down a little. However, if you weren't around when punk smashed its way into mid 70's youth culture, i would imagine you would enjoy this more than us that were around at the time and can find holes in the storyline. That said, it was fun to watch, was nice to see original news footage from the time mixed in and had a great soundtrack of assorted genres. A great little series that is worth a watch.
